Is this a done thing.....

As I mentioned before, I am thinking of joining my local group on Wed. I told my friend on the phone a little while ago to see if she wanted to come along and join too. She said she may come along and register just to get the information pack but never go back again...

Surely she would have to go back, wouldn't the group leader keep phoning her?? and totalling up the missed weeks for her to pay back?? She seems to think this is the done thing and no-one actually returns each week for the support etc.
I'm not sure if I should not let her come with me as if the leader knows we are friends she might keep getting me to pass messages on etc...

Mel you can't be held responsible for your friend - the consultant will understand that I'm sure. Plus there are very few people who will reach target without the group support or the regime of a strict weigh-in every week

We used to have a sign in my first class stating that 97% of SW members who don't stay to class never reach target. I believe that as I stopped staying after 18m and never got down that last stone. I don't stay at the mo due to time and family constraints but I know I would do 10x better if I could stay. In fact I'm on my own tomorrow so will probably do so for some inspiration and a kick up the a***!

Let her do what she wants but you'll be happy knowing you've got unlimited support.
• i'm surprised ive lost any weight as i'm such a fussy eater but ive lost just over 1.5 stone since oct, i'm happy for it to come off slow as the longer it takes to come off the longer it stays off (apparently) it also means i can have the odd splurge without feeling too guilty!!
just having jacket spud with asda meat free chilli (1 sin) have put sum shrooms in for the speedy food

It happens a lot. I'd advise her to be honest with the Consultant as she will waste a lot of her time in ringing the member. It's not advisable, since the whole idea of group support is lost and of course, the oppotunity to use the web site (tho' I suspect your friend will want you to give her the password each week to enable her to carry on using the site).

If the Consultant keeps on at you (which she shouldn't) tell her the truth - it's not your fault after all!

Good luck with the group, I really hope you like it - we have loads of fun at ours, though I sometimes think it's more of a social club than a slimming club :D
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

i actually love going to sw and don't think i wud do as well as i have without staying for the classes, i go with my 2 friends and we have lost 7 st between us (they been going longer than me), there's a few of us in work that go (different classes) so we all txt each other when we been weighed, its much easier with a support network

Yeah the sneaky blighter...I didn't think about the password bit either, and being the friend that I am I will probably give her too..lol.
I could just say to her that i didn't stay for the group sesion so didn't get it..

I am looking forward to the group meetings and I hope they are enjoyable as others have suggested.

I just feel bad knowing she may come along with me just to get the books!!

• I've been doing really badly since the weekend :( Tonnes of chocolate, mainly. I feel stuck. I really wanted to sort myself out today but I've been rubbish again.

How can I get myself properly back on track tomorrow? Any ideas?

Found a new snack though,
Quaker Snack-a-Jacks, Popcorn, Salt & Vinegar 13g bag

They're tasty!
• firstly don't beat yourself up about having a bad week, its happend to us all
maybe plan what you will eat for the next few days, including snacks, if you need a chox fix can you try hi-lights hot chocolate, this is only low in syns (not sure exact amount) or hi-lite choc mouse is 3.5 syns for a pot

• Cooo, you lot have been busy today! Taken me ages to catch up and I only posted this morning!

Ummmm, let me see ... someone (160?) said about fruit and yogurt for brekkie because an ounce of cereal doesn't fill the gap - I agree with this wholeheartedly, so I have the ounce (Alpen) WITH fruit and VLF natural yogurt. It immediately swells up and turns into stodgy, fruit-flavoured concrete, takes an absolute age to eat and fills me up till lunchtime :D

Nobody believes I'm nearly 12 stone, I think I have the opposite problem to an anorexic, I look in the mirror and see a slim, toned person - my dearly beloved said "Erm, well, erm ... you're whatdyacallit ... buxom":rotfl:

Charmer ;)

We've been out for most of today, so I had breakfast, a piece of wholemeal toast with a microwaved egg for a quick snack before we went, and some egg noodles, prawns, peppers and mushrooms with h/m sweet and sour sauce (tinned pineapple and juice, vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce and a bit of arrowroot to thicken it). No idea how many sins, probably too many and I'm too tired to care tonight, but I've also had loads of fruit and been too busy to snack so I'm calling it a good day and going to bed!
