Batch of marmalade made but I'm not as happy with it as I was yesterday's batch. Tastes delish though. Leek and cabbage thingy made for tonight which Belovéd can shove in the oven while the lamb is roasting, and then when it's done he can shove in a tray of Twinks I've defrosted.I think I've found where the kitchen floor flood yesterday and this morning originated. I hope so because otherwise we've got a problem. Not as much else done as I'd wanted to do. Lodger came home a good six hours earlier than I'd expected her to, so I explained I was planning on changing her bed today while she was out. She's now doing it herself. I'm rather pleased about that and I don't think she minded.Better is good enough.8

The Toots list job i’ve started is huge…most of the wood in this house, skirtings, spindles, banisters and doors and door frame is dark, varnished wood. I have and under stairs cupboard with 2 doors and a cupboard on the landing with 4 doors. I’ve had a plan, for a long time, to remove the varnish and paint them white. As i’ve now ordered new bedroom doors for upstairs, white, i thought i ought to make a start, so one of the 4 cupboard doors from the landing has been removed and sanded with the sander i got for xmas 2022. I think most of the varnish with have to be removed with stripper.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

@flamingo747 the ones I"m looking at are these: https://www.nutravita.co.uk/products/60-billion-cfu-pro-bio-cultures-complex-60-capsules?_pos=1&_sid=c1ac76b87&_ss=r@Honey_Bear home made marmalade is soooo much better than any bought one isn't it? We have a friend who normally makes it and keeps us supplied but he didn't have the time last year or this year, which is really sad for us. Hopefully production will re-start next year.Went to the 8.30 service and stopped off at a deli/bakery on the way home for a couple of things. No flying other than cooking and washing up.

A very mix'n'match day and I've been a bit restless going from one thing to another, so I will have to do the same tomorrow but putting things back where they should be as I've definitely walked and put stuff down all over the place!
- went to church. I was on reading and refreshment duty, so that's practically flying.
- did some snipping and clipping in the garden. I've earmarked one small area in the front that I want to finish before I move on - but knowing my tendency to ramble, it may not happen!
- checked tax status for the third time this week as it is showing that I'm due a refund, which I hadn't expected but won't complain about. Finally I believed it wasn't mis-reading on my part and filled in the 'repayment' section as I'd rather get interest on it myself than let the government have it.
- paid for the village magazine online.
- started another pair of fingerless gloves. I gave the last pair to the waterways chaplain to give to a needy boater, and she was so taken with them I said I would knit her some.
- did a bit of washing up and tidying in the kitchen.
- did some drum practice.
- started on one of my 'spring clean'/Toots list/preparation for retirement by tackling a mobile unit, it's one like they have at school i.e. several plastic drawers which slot into a trolley on wheels. I've been using it to store paper, large envelopes and mainly test materials. Some of my tests are no longer valid at uni and probably not in schools either, so I've gritted teeth and put a whole load for recycling. 4 drawers down, 6 smaller ones to go. Wiped empty drawers before putting back what I need to keep, vacuumed the base of the trolley while all drawers were out. Moved my large collection of coloured plastic wallets from a rather rickety 'hanging' filing system into one of the trolley drawers. I'm not sure what I will use the space/drawers for but maybe I can eventually tidy some other 'stuff' from my study.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
