  • Yes, I did let the Esa know when i finished permitted work and sent back the paperwork needed to Esa, I was doing 10 hours per week. The Esa is the special disability payment which you get for extra disability.  I got it when I got Pip. That was back in March 23. I noticed one of another post also sent back a Esa 50 back in Dec but not heard back yet also in the same Esa forum

There's a number of people who were sent ESA50s towards the end of last year / beginning of this year. Most seemed to be in the LCW group (I was one of them). It seems that the DWP arranged for far too many people than could be handled within the current system to have their ESA reviewed with the result that uit seems that some people still haven't heard anything back.

The thing to do is to contact the assessment provider to see if they still have your file. If so, then the review is still ongoing. if notm, and it has been returned to the DWP (if aso, ask when this happened) it's possible the DWP have made a decision and that you are still LCW but they didn't bother to inform you of this. The DWP are supposed to but it appears this doesn't always happen.

I must admit I don't see to much about stopping permitted work while on ESA LCW I assume it's classed as a change of circumstances to be reported by the claimant. But will look into that further.

Did you do this below when you stopped permitted work or phone them? I think it could be that has triggered your review.

It’s important to let the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) know about any permitted work you do or if you change your permitted work.

To let the DWP know fill in a permitted work form on GOV.UK. Post it to the address at the top of any of your ESA letters.

Stopping permitted work is not a change of circumstances that would prompt a review. Those with LCW/WRAG have been contacted in the past 9 or 10 months for a review and there's many still waiting for a decision.

Hello Poppy, What if he was stopping due to health issues? He says he has informed them now anyway but I can't see what would trigger a review only the group he was in or original overdue assessment period.

I think I would just phone them to see if it's been done.

Hello Robbie, do you remember a statement that certain groups after a further assessment would no longer require assessments? Was that just the support group around 2019 just before the underpayment Saga started of Income related.

I'll see if any statistics are online on people with ESA LCW assessments currently waiting decisions. Or F.O.I reports.

That was just Support Group/LCWRA. It was way back in 2017 https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-7820/
