Rejecting new car due to dealer misfuel

A lot of these big companies use tools that work on "listening" to social media - perhaps the multiple mentions of Hyundai on this site has tripped one of their sensors and drawn the case to their attention...1

Well done in getting a decent result, I am quite shocked at how Hyundai have dealt with this as I have always found them pretty good when it comes to warranty and aftercare. I would hazard a guess and say the repairing garage caused this in the way they reported back to HQ. Realising they made a mistake they just stuck to their guns instead of saying sorry we made a mistake.1

It could be something as simple as the repairing garage misrepresenting the OP as a 'difficult' customer to Hyundai UK.0

I think you're right there, the bloke I was talking to yesterday said the bloke he was talking to at Hyundai UK said to tell me not to use Morrisons fuel in the future, there's reports all over the Internet of their fuel being contaminated. I said to him I've seen them but I've never seen 1 person being effected 250 miles down the road, usually many people within a mile of the fuel station... so it looks like they're still unwilling to accept the liklihood of what has actually happened. Anyway I wasn't going to argue the toss with him, I'm pretty confident my car hasn't had diesel or water pumping round its system and I just want an end to it all.sevenhills said:Robbo66 said:Well done in getting a decent result, I am quite shocked at how Hyundai have dealt with this as I have always found them pretty good when it comes to warranty and aftercare. Fortunately the way the repairing dealer reported it to HQ was my saving grace, they'd only ever verbally said to me that they'd found diesel, luckily they told Hyundai UK the same thing which they documented, so when the repairing dealer changed their mind to water contamination after seeing the trace found in the fuel analysis report, it must have set alarm bells ringingRobbo66 said:Well done in getting a decent result, I am quite shocked at how Hyundai have dealt with this as I have always found them pretty good when it comes to warranty and aftercare. I've just read a story in the Telegraph that's very, very similar to OP's story. In fact, I'm pretty sure it is the same story (not sure if I should post the link)

You cannot get more famous than being in the media, that is what they fear.booneruk said:I've just read a story in the Telegraph that's very, very similar to OP's story. In fact, I'm pretty sure it is the same story (not sure if I should post the link)
