Is a finance company still liable even if the finance is paid off almost instantly?born_again said:So no comeback via card co.
Finance co it is.👍Interested not just for the OP but I have just done the same thing….no probs with car at mo tho0 -
That's what I'm wondering, I told them I bought it on 29/12 and it broke down on 4/01 and I paid the finance off on 11/01, the repair was paid for on 15/01 and rejected on 17/01 and they didn't say they weren't interested... time will tell though no doubt, they're probably scouring through their t's & c's right now to see how they can get out if itphotome said:

Called Hyundai UK on Monday asking for written confirmation that the full warranty is still valid on my car, also asked for a call back from my case manager... heard nothing back
Called Hyundai UK on Tuesday asking for written confirmation that the full warranty is still valid on my car, also asked a for call back from my case manager... heard nothing back
Called Hyundai UK on Wednesday asking for written confirmation that the full warranty is still valid on my car, also asked a for call back from my case manager... was told
HUK: It's not up to us but the "Warranty team"
OP: Can you give me their phone number, I'll speak to them
HUK: We don't have their phone number
OP: You don't have a phone system at Hyundai UK?
HUK: We do, I suggest you contact them through the retail dealer
OP: So there's no way Hyundai UK can contact the Hyundai UK Warranty team
HUK: Your warranty is valid for the full 5 years as long as you adhere to the T&C's (servicing etc.)
OP: Yes but would this alleged miss-fueling effect the warranty?
HUK: It depends if any new warranty work is linked back to the miss-fuel
OP: So no it's not the full 5 year warranty then, as you'll try and link any further potential engine problem back to the alleged miss-fuel
HUK: It depends...
Now waiting for a call back from my case manager, I have a feeling I'll be calling again tomorrow1 -
I would say yes.photome said:

The fact that you no longer owe money does not exclude a S75 claim.
If you pay your CC in full each month, you still have S75 rights.

MOVEMENT!
I have just received a call from the selling dealer telling me that Hyundai UK have told the repairing dealer to refund me my money for the repairs and the fuel analysis!
Why on earth the selling dealer is telling me that and not Hyundai UK and or the repairing dealer is another story.
I'm still waiting to hear about the warranty status on my car, so the madness is not completely over yet!

This sounds like good news ,i have followed this story since your first post and HOPEFULLY this will be sorted out to your satisfaction ,well done for sticking to your guns.2

Had a further call, again from the selling dealer, saying that Hyundai UK also wanted to have the car in for the other 2 fuel injectors to be replaced at no charge and for the warranty to be put back to the status it was the day before the car broke down... obviously I'm waiting to get this in writing.
What's caused this sudden about turn, the LBA I served on Monday, the case I opened with Hyundai Finance on Monday, it going to the higher ups at Hyundai UK and them just realising the bloody absurdity of this case, my doggedness in not letting this go... or maybe the interest in my case from a national daily newspaper who a mate of mine recommend I got in touch with and who said they'd be contacting Hyundai? Who knows? Whatever it was, at least it seems to have got things moving!7 -
Good job getting the right result in the end but it shouldn’t have been that difficult….shame on Hyundai1
