Not so much as an acknowledgement at the moment. How people manage all this nonsense whilst dealing with grief and holding down a job is beyond me. Mind you, I am in awe of anyone who manages to go to work and remotely function whilst dealing with this.
An early delivery this morning (guttering) so I got up and went to MrT for half price lamb shoulder and pork loin. Part of me thinks I should use the freezer contents up first but this was a good buy for us. Like @EssexHebridean I am waiting for them to put the decent gammon joints on offer too but I need to be realistic about the size of joints and our enthusiasm for leftovers.
The mint tea is MrM Mint Breeze (green tea with 45% peppermint) which is the only remotely herbal one I drink. @greenbee sent me a big selection some years ago and I dutifully drank my way through them but still only like that mint one. Mr Redo had a lot of the twinings ones but I gave them to the food bank in the first clear out.
Some glorious tree colours as I drove to MrT this morning - love the autumn colours. Bright skies even if it is cold. I might go and play outside for a bit.

I'm going to have a look at the half price Pork Loins I think with a view to whether to buy or whether just to hold off for now and continue using freezer stuff. There will also be bits to come from the farmer's market on Saturday morning some of which will no doubt make their way to the freezer too, so I need to take that into account.
I'm with you on not generally being a fan of herbal type teas - it's a shame as so many of them smell delicious, but taste like washing up water. Disappointing - must try harder tea manufacturers!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I'd forgotten about the tea trials 🤣 At least you now have one you like. I mostly drink fennel or licquorice nowadays (when I remember to have a hot drink that's not coffee).

Love licquorice and peppermint tea
love 🐞

I stopped buying fennel as I have a friend who is epileptic & so it is unwise to drink it. I don't want to give her one by mistake.

I use whole fennel seeds and chopped licquorice root. That way there's no ambiguity about what people are having. Teabags all look the same
Also the loose stuff is hugely cheaper and I get to use my teapot(s).

Apparently fennel tea is good for farting dogs... I may need to try it 🤣3

I feed one of my "gassy" horses a scoop of fennel seeds in each meal - very cheaply bought in large bulk.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -
Updates:
1. Pension - Late afternoon acknowledgement, no actual update.
2. Business banking online access now set up. I can now download the transactions for the final set of company accounts, pay myself a last dividend and close them. Then I need to do the stuff to close the limited company.
Positives:
1. Plumber is due Monday to fit the hard to find part - everything crossed that that fixes the problem. Grateful that we have immersion heater, wood burner and several oil radiators, and despite being a tight wad, we can afford to fix the problem and to run the expensive stuff in the meantime.
2. Opticians this afternoon - hurrah! While I really do not like the horrible puffy eye test bit the funny coating on my hands length glasses has failed so it will be a joy to have a new pair.
3. T&M have dispatched my bargain bulbs
4. The pork loin was lovely -half the joint frozen in slices and the the other half rubbed with some crushed fennel seed and sea salt and roasted. Eaten with the first sprouts of the year. Probably egg fried rice with the leftovers today.
