I've never really had anyone as a joint decision-maker (they have all been annoyingly 'do what you like'). It does tend to prolong the process, and is why I often document things in huge detail and/or run them past friends for any opinion. Ultimately though, all the decisions are down to me. Which means no one to share the blame if they turn out to be wrong. Except the cats, but they don't care as long as there is food, comfy chairs, and lots of toys if it's raining.5

No one to ask what on earth do I do now & no-one to say for crying out loud just do it. I get struck by total inertia at times. A self inflicted kick up the posterior does not always work.

Thank you
i was just looking at decent sanding stuff in the living room (abranet) and looking at my kitchen cupboards and that pesty kitten ran through the mountains of ground floor junk. Bad kitten. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

A very quiet weekend for me, I think much needed after the last week. A little bit of gardening which did me a lot of good but mostly I ignored the cleaning and the decluttering and moved as little as possible. Ankles a lot better for it.Hopefully this week will see some movement of cash into the bank and then I will order an oven.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Don't overdo things this week, after all you want it to heal properly. Once you're back to your normal activities I've got no chance of beating you on steps anymore!5

Sounds like you are managing to get through a huge amount of admin at a very difficult time
Sending you a hug !DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

thank you!
13k steps yesterday so not quite resting the ankle. It was a bit ouch by the end of the day so obviously I will be resting it today and giving @greenbee a chance to catch up...While I was out I got a solicitor to do the oath thing so that form is skipping its way to get one of the smaller pots released.
I also picked up all the copy photos that I had ordered to do the albums as a gift for my stepsons as a thank you for all their support. Both said how few photos they had of their Dad. I scanned a lot of old ones and got printed photos from the scans which turned out better than I expected.Very little financial update - have told the banks etc but a resounding silence. I can't log on to check his credit card balance (should now be empty) for example so I assume they have read and acted on the information. Pensions 3 and 4 are selling funds and waiting for the trustees to confirm the beneficiaries.Pension 1 on the other hand have paid the backdated spouses pension and the other bit I was due so I can order the oven.Selling his car, I had a good look yesterday and I think it needs a really good deep clean valet before I take photos to get the best price for it as his is a nice low mileage car. Otherwise I risk them arriving and knocking a lot of money off. Have found a local company who can do it early next week so I'll just need to empty all of his stuff out - who knows there may be another emergency bag hidden? My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Don't think I'll catch up with you on steps... I'm shattered (might be something to do with hanging around waiting for people on Saturday and Monday, and getting cold when the heating engineer was here servicing the boiler and hot water tank).
I hope you find hidden treasure in the car6 -
Make sure to go through TCB/£Co for the oven!
Good luck with the car emptying4
