They are unhelpful and obstructive on the phone.

Luckily I had read up front and knew PBs were awful over 5k so that was always our limit. As it happens we had disinvested a while back so no holdings.

Who went for the kettle as the third thing? It's not switching itself off when it's boiling. Relatively  cheap at least.

Nationwide is under &50,000. Over that amount they require probate.

From what I have read they can ask for probate over £5k, but they must once it's over 50k.  Another argument for spreading your money around. 

Pouring down here. Woken by tiny cat screaming at the back door that she was cold and wet and hungry. Everybody fed and tea made. 

Had the first lot of people come and look to quote yesterday for the roof bits, lintels, fascia's and guttering. Not looking forward to the quote, and I need to get at least one more for comparison. We always intended to get someone in to do these bits but it's hard without a joint decision maker.  The work has to be done and fairly soon though. 

My ankles a lot better but still not right. Probably need to do my physio now and find my ultra sound thing as it really helps once the swelling goes down.  I need to stick to moving less for another few days at least.

I was planning on getting organised and putting all our money into one account...reading your updates and everyone's input has made me realise perhaps it's better to spread it all out here and there (not that we have a lot of savings at the moment but I do plan on becoming a squillionaire one of these days!)

£5 charge for the oath thing. Also £5 per item for certified copies.

I still find the lack of a joint decision maker really hard particularly when it comes to getting trades in to do 'stuff'.  OH and I were a team around decisions and I dither about making them on my own even when repairs really need doing. Hope you can find someone good at a reasonable price and that your ankle continues to improve x
