redo - I have a bek0 cooker (oven, grill and induction hob). It's 'OK'. Wouldn't have been my choice, but needs must and the cr3da that was here was just....... 🤮
I dislike that the oven is so low (had previously been used to slot in ovens). It also seems to cook unevenly and isn't particularly big inside. I haven't really used the grilling oven - it's sold as a second oven, but in reality you can't really use it for anything other than open door grilling or perhaps plate warming. The induction hobs work - I'm not a huge fan of those types of hob, but don't think the bek0 ones are any better or any worse than other brands.
I have my late mother's old beko freezer - it was kept out in an outhouse, was garaged and unused for at least a year and brought into use when our (useless) h0tpoint gave up after 18 months or so. I love the freezer. I can't say the same about the oven.
Part of the trouble with the beko oven is that it was a short term compromise, but one that will probably end up being a long term compromise. I would have preferred to have a nice up to date kitchen where I would be considering what slot in oven to buy and a separate hob. If you are not thinking of it as a long-term option, then certainly it will "do". It cooks stuff.

Hugs for tackling the emotional notification today 🤍🤍🤍 - My OH felt the same when he did that for his Mom.
We have a Beko upright freezer and a dishwasher bought over nine years ago and they still going strong. The brand was recommended to us by the shop-floor guy & I'm so glad we listened to him. I've recently managed to break a drawer front (my own impatience) but the part was easily found online via their spare parts shop. We also previously had an in-built oven and mini dishwasher for over 7 years of the same brand. The oven element went at some point, but it was again a part that was easily sourced and an online video showed me how to replace it! I'd say the brand has longevity and is reliable, it's not top of the line or fancy by any means but affordable and easily fixed are high on my list of wants!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Can’t comment on Beko ovens as I don’t have one but all my other appliances are Beko and no complaints whatsoever. When a user error forced me to get a repair man out (I didn’t screw the salt cap on properly and flooded the machine 😬) he said they are one of the best makes out there at the moment.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

Thank you everyone, I think I will go with the Beko as soon as any more money lands.
I had a really helpful (free!) conversation with a probate specialist who has taken the details and suggested that I talk nicely to the bank in the hope that I can avoid it. They also kindly confirmed my understanding of how things stand which was generous and helpful of them. They do fixed fee (incl the £300 application fee) of £750 and I have to say I would recommend them. If anyone wants their details please DM me.
I spoke to the main bank and they have confirmed they will not want probate, even if bank 2 are only happy to release funds back to that account so it looks like we are good to go. Have posted off certs and request to Bank 2. Bank 3 want me to sign a declaration in front of a commissioner for oaths (no idea what that costs but still less than probate) and then they will release the few thousand they hold. It is all moving on at least.

Bit late to the oven party, but my new house has a beko oven (fitted one) and it works way better than the last house's oven (think that was a Bosch which I expected to be good but was rubbish!)

Well done for getting the government tell us thing sorted Redo - it does feel like a big thing, somehow, doesn’t it.Good to hear all the good reviews for Beko stuff too - I’d certainly look at them if for example our fridge needed replacing.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Your biggest problem would probably be NS & I as they have a very low threshhold for wanting probate. Some banks are £50k & I think the Nationwide is £20k. Hopefully you will not need probate at all. When we realised that my mother was not going to last very long I read quite a lot on the probate part of the marriage, relationships board & that was very helpful.
