It's good that your parents were in good spirits. That makes things a bit easier.

Your diary, by the way, is your place to sound off if you need to. If people don't want to read, no one's making them. You'll notice, though, that there are plenty of us who keep coming back!

Is it possible for you to order repeat prescriptions online? I'm the sort of person who remembers at times the surgery isn't open, so it's been a boon to me.

Today was more productive. I visited mum and dad who were both in fine spirits which makes life a bit easier.
I then went and did a bit of shopping before I came home. I did walk into town on the way to mum and dads because mum messaged me and asked me if I could pick up a birthday card for her. I caught the bus from town to their house but when I left I walked back into town then got the bus home. I  dropped my repeat prescription request off on the way then when I got home realised I had forgotten to order more codeine so I will run out of that now 🙄 I’m going to drop an order in tomorrow either on my way to work or on the way home.

Im in clinics all day tomorrow so don’t have to start until 9 instead of 7.30 and I’ve just realised Friday is a bank holiday so I will have to get a taxi because the buses won’t be running that early.

It’s also payday tomorrow so when I get home I will have a look at my bank to shuffle some money around and try and make things run more smoothly. I also need to send in meter readings

Doesn't your surgery have an online system for requesting prescriptions too? Ours does and it means you can do it anytime you want - 24/7. If they have that would be a lot easier for you.

I can order repeat prescriptions through the app as well.

Glad your visit to the parents went well.  I hope you get a decent response from the GP.

  • How are you today OBL?
I managed to sleep last night so am up today pottering and doing things slowly. I am terrible for resting always feel like I should be doing something (another very long and boring story about my upbringing) and get anxious easily. I was in a different team last year - I work in admin/finance - and working from home and my boss was very toxic towards me plus the supervisor. I managed to change teams and am doing something very different now and my boss couldn’t be nicer! Makes such a difference 😊

The dogs are real characters and make me laugh every day. They have been an absolute godsend and now when I am poorly as all their toys get dumped on the bed.  Hubby has been a star too bless him.

i know very little about the nursing profession so am curious about what you do….you mention clinics and wards and taking blood so in my mind you are a nurse 😊 and an awesome person all round 😘

  • Ooo lots to catch up on, I will have to come back another day to finish the last twenty pages :joy: but I just wanted to say if you haven't sorted your hip pain out I wondered if you have tried a chiropractor? I have sciatica but also hip dysplasia so am always in some sort of pain. Today it is only around a 3/10 pain some days it is all I can think about as it hurts so much.

Those days it causes nerve pain all the way down my groin, leg, knee, and to my feet. I have bought insoles for shoes too on the advice of the chiropractor to help raise my arches. I have high arches naturally and these help with pain especially when I am on my feet all day.

I was diagnosed with fibro around ten years ago but I rejected it  :D I told them it was nonsense and they only gave me that label as they didn't know what was wrong. I have mostly fixed myself with chiropractor, rest, meditation, reiki, herbal suppplements in favour of big pharma ones and yoga and also listening to my body and resting it when it demands it otherwise I get sick. It is ongoing though and I have to always be on top of keeping it at bay.

Hope all is well, I will come back and finish what I started another day, but work calls now.....

Pleased to hear there is treatment that can help B. Also glad she didn’t fall asleep on you and you didn’t need to carry her home.
Couldnt you just set a standing order or direct debit up to transfer the money from savings then back again so you don’t forget. We do this so that we have enough movement in our current account….needed a certain amount when we set it up to get bonus. (I don’t even know if that still applies 😳) Goes from one account on 28th and back on 2nd…..works for us. I never include that money into my totals either.
    January spends - £587.58

Two of my meds are ordered for me by Boots every two months,The steroids can’t be ordered online but I don’t know why and the painkillers are a controlled drug so not allowed to be ordered online. The drop box for the request slips is actually outside the surgery door so you can access it at anytime. I have now brought some slips home so I can fill them in here and drop them in on my way either two or from work
