You need to check how much your pension is added to your wage - that might be why you paid so much tax ?
My wage was £749 and my pension is £622
    Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,120

What did your tax code say OBL as what has been taken in tax would seem to show your tax code as only around 100L rather than 1257L.  Unless you have significant taxable income from elsewhere that is.  As around £11,000.  Unfortunately as this is the last month of the tax year if you are due a refund it will have to come from HMRC themselves.
I think it’s because of my pension, I conveniently forgot to add that to my annual income 😀

Hope you get some answers at the docs.
Your financial plan sounds great. If it makes sense to you and it works then that’s what is important 👍

Thanks hopefully they won’t just fob me off again. My financial plan makes complete sense to me 🙂 I am aware it relies on me being organised and paying the money back but I don’t like taking money out of my savings so it shouldn’t be a problem. I will trial it anyway to see if it works and if not I will think again

Thank you for your explanation, that makes perfect sense. I can separate some of the pain - sore knees are bone spurs from hypermobile arthritic joints. The pain if someone touches my upper arms is not ED and it is inappropriate to the amount of force used. If someone just taps me to get my attention it really hurts. I had trauma too - I don't usually tell people in case they think I'm lying. I'm back in touch with my dad's cousin now and we talk about what happened - it's good because she knew of what was happening if not at the same time that my sister and I were experiencing it then at least soon after.

I really appreciate you sharing your research and taking the time to type everything out.
That’s exactly how I am. Light touch can really hurt and I avoid hugging people because of it. Trauma has so many consequences for the body. I also like Gabor Mate as his work is mostly about the bodys trauma response from childhood experiences. His books make so much sense to me

We finally made  it to the Swedish Emporium today. We were there for hours and quite a lot of time was spent sitting on various chairs and settees because both of us had achey feet 😀 we of course had plant meatballs for lunch because you just have to and I also bought some for my freezer . I bought myself another small saucepan and two lightweight bath mats.

I also had a look at the chest of drawers I want for my bedroom and found one I liked and I’ve bought a replacement table and two chairs for the garden. My table that’s out there now is rotten and has no chairs so we take the dining chairs out. The table is also quite big and I wanted a smaller one. The one I’ve bought is suitable for two people and has two chairs with it for £80 which I thought was a really good price. I wanted one that will fold up so I can put it in the shed over winter . The old one wouldn’t go in the shed so had to stay out in all weather, I have painted it so many times but it must be over 20 years old now so I’ve had my moneys worth.
I’ve ordered the chest of drawers and garden furniture to be delivered on the 4th of April. I won’t be putting the chest of drawers together until the carpet is done in my room but I can’t do that until the decorating is finished and the radiator has been done.
The plan now is to finish that room decorating wise then the radiator will be done on the 16th and 17th of April then I can organise a new carpet. I am determined to do something in there tomorrow even if I have to crawl up the ladder 😀 I think once I get moving I will be ok, it’s getting moving in the first place that’s the challenge.

I’m not working until Wednesday now so have Sunday and Monday to do some decorating. I will be hopefully be going to visit Mum and Dad on Tuesday but that depends on whether I can get a Gp appointment. In the unlikely event that the weather is nice I might also cut the grass on the front garden, I think it’s going to rain though so I will be saved from doing that job 😂

No problem,  what id written out is basically what you are doing but separated between dedicated accounts so you know where everything is and automating it so it just chugs away in the background but if you prefer to do it yourself and that works well then of course just carry on.   It was to get around the fact you feel you are 'taking money out your savings' as I don't see it that way but sorry I made it seem too complicated    :)

Happy Easter to you, re the tax my income from both pension and salary are taxed as my allowance is on my salary so pay some tax on that , my pensions I get taxed at full rate. As someone suggested log on HMRC account and have a look at your tax codes. My salary is paid 18th and pension 20th so a lot easier for me. Your spends at the Swedish place sound just the ticket, the table will look good in the garden. Hoping you are not in so much pain today and can do some decorating. Plus sit outside in the sun as well while it's here.
Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.

Happy Easter 🙂 sadly there’s no sun here today, it’s just grey windy and cold 🥶

  • You need to check how much your pension is added to your wage - that might be why you paid so much tax ?
My wage was £749 and my pension is £622
Are these figures gross or net (after tax has been paid) ?
