Today has been lovely😀it was DD2s birthday so I went over to her flat in the morning with her presents which were two prints from someone on Etsy that she liked and she was very pleased with them.

We had lots of different ideas for things to do but when I got there she said that all she wanted to do was go into town to a local indie cafe that she likes to have brunch followed by a trip to the bookshop to buy books so we did that. We also had a mooch around the shops followed by another coffee stop where we sat for ages talking about everything and anything. We had toyed with going for a long walk but she is out walking tomorrow on the moor and we also want to go and see Dune but the weather was too nice to be indoors. I couldn’t have gone on a walk today anyway because my leg is killing me which is very annoying.

I also picked up my trainers that I ordered the other day and they fit perfectly which I’m very pleased with because they are from the youth section of Adidas so a size 4 which are £55 instead of £85 😀they feel like slippers. I’ve been looking for months because my others have started to fall apart and look scruffy now these are a lovely colour and will go with anything I wear

DD2 and myself have also decided to form our an slimmimg club. We are going to weigh every Saturday  morning. We both need to be held accountable so thought this would help. I have got the Nutracheck app which worked well for me last time I lost weight but I used to go to slimming world to get weighed . I’m going to try using the app and just weighing every Saturday then checking in with DD. I like looking at the graph which shows your weight going down and I got quite competitive with myself when I used it last time. I will be happy to lose a stone to put me back where I was before I went on the steroids ( 10 st) but it would be a bonus to get back to 9st 12lbs which was my goal

Good luck with the family slimming club. A bit of healthy competition works wonders. Maybe  1 st one to half a stone gets treated to a cuppa out or has a meal cooked for them ? 👍😂 I did something similar with Dh years ago….needless to say he beat me hands down 😂😂😂 He has put it all back on though and he’s decided he needs to do something about it.
What a palaver with the radiators - at least you’ll  have the nice guy working on them.

We will wait and see with the slimming club because we are a terrible influence on each other 😀
Men always lose weight faster than women and don’t seem to have to put as much effort in either which bugs me no end 😂

Yesterday was spent not doing a lot. I had to go out and post my Mums Mother’s Day card and because it was a lovely sunny day I walked to the local post office in the local shopping centre. There are more collections from there than from my postbox at the end of the road and I’m worried it won’t get there in time. I’ve posted it first class but I’m still not sure it will arrive in time.

I also popped into Boots to buy another face wash because I have nearly run out. I am trying the Aveeno one because although I love the one ive got now I’m not sure if it’s irritating my face. I keep getting red rosey cheeks and nose that look like I’ve got a fever 😀but it doesn’t itch or anything and I don’t feel hot when I get it so I’m not sure what’s causing it. I look like I’ve been out in the sun too long which is just wishful thinking at the moment. I then wandered into TKMax to see if they had any Caramel flavoured coffee syrup. They did have some but they were big bottles and I want a little one. Costa do them but only in a collection and I don’t like the other flavours.

It was a lovely sunny day yesterday but very windy which helped propel me along 😀

Today I’m meeting a friend for coffee in the same place I was yesterday. I was going to walk but the sky is looking black and ominous so I’m going to treat myself to a bus.

My new neighbours have now moved in properly and I haven’t heard a peep out of them. You would not think there are four children living in the house .

I haven't tried making my own caramel syrup but there are plenty of recipes out there if you feel creative! I make my own ginger syrup: it costs pence and has become a winter tradition. It has to be kept in the fridge as there are no preservatives apart from the sugar, but it doesn't tend to last long.

Hello OBL! I am still thoroughly enjoying your diary 😊 I am as far as March 2020 and it’s interesting to get your perspective on The Virus due to your job.
I am office based and I remember someone pinching all the Handwash gel including peoples own. Even out of the little plastic things by the loo 🤨. I had a blazing row with a colleague who just wouldn’t shut up about the virus and that we shouldn’t be there - she wound up really upsetting and worrying a lot of people and I remember bellowing at her to stop scaremongering, stop repeating rubbish FB posts and to use some common sense. She got that bad we all had to take turns cleaning the office every half hour. We were restricted on only 1 person in the loo at a time, 1 person in the break room at a time in an office of about 30 to 40 people.
My old neighbour was a nurse and had a sign on her kitchen window saying “NHS worker please be quiet and respectful “ yet would have her nurse friends over for drinks on some afternoons  and they would laugh and joke incredibly loudly so I had to shut my back door and windows so she couldn’t be heard by my colleagues on zoom meetings……we ended up working from home and that is a whole other story!

We had the same. Our staff room back then was tiny so it was only big enough for one person. We were having our breaks in cupboards and all sorts of places
