That's really interesting about Fibro, I've only ever had a vague idea of it before.  Thanks for sharing.

Glad you had a nice time with your friend.

You’re definitely on a roll there OBL.
I so get what you mean about leaving silly little jobs…☺️
I'm glad it's not just me😊 I am a terrible procrastinator though so I'm not surprised. I find it really annoying be don't seem to be able to change 🤷‍♀️

I'm currently looking at a small pile of stuff on the sofa. It's been there for a few days. Why don't I just tidy it up? It would take 5 minutes.
    Nods in recognition 😀

I finally did it today. <3 In fact I've a mega housework day so everything is looking much better. It's just a shame it doesn't last long. If only things stayed clean and tidy for a few months it would be great, but in no time at all everything needs doing again.

Re your leg, does your GP have one of those systems where you have to ring up at 8.00 and hope you can get through before all the appointments have gone and if they have you have to try day after day until you get lucky? If that is the case is there an urgent care centre near you that you could go to (not an A&E)? We have one near us and they have GPs there that you can go and see and you don't have to be registered - it's just a walk-in. Alternatively, are you in Benenden? If so, you can speak to a GP through them.
Yay we'll done 🎉🎉  I like to keep on top of mine if I can so it doesn't get too out of hand. There are jobs I do every day so in as the floors and I make sure my kitchen and living room are tidy before I go to bed because I don't like coming down to a mess. I now have the hoover and the other filter to clean so tonight I swept the floors so I didn't have to do it 😀

Yes I have to phone at 8.30 and hope to get an appointment. To be fair they have always seen me pretty quickly ( or phoned ) it's just that they don't know what to do about it). The last doctor decided it was best to increase my antidepressants as I was feeling achey and I just didn't have the energy to say I wasn't actually a little bit achey I was in agony and having trouble walking. I had had to go up my stairs on all fours that day. It's like banging your head against a brick wall. I feel like I've been fighting for some treatment of some sort for years but they just see my diagnosis of Fibromyalgia and blame it on that. The gp asked me if I had ever thought of harming myself and I said after 23 years of almost daily pain what do you think.

23 years - that's terrible. Have they done an x-ray or MRI? Or how about a nerve conduction study?
I've had an mri about 20 years ago which was normal. I've had lots of xrays and until the most recent one they have all been normal and I've also had nerve conduction tests but that was my hands and they were normal too. Until 18 months ago all my bloods were normal then I got some other symptoms so they tested again which showed elevated inflammation markers .Fibro doesn't cause inflammation so they diagnosed me with Polymyalgia Rheumatica and have been treating that with steroids. I will finish that treatment at  the end of May but it's been very up and down and I've had to increase my dose several times which has made the treatment longer than it should have been.  Sadly there is nothing medical that they can do for Fibromyalgia but I do manage that on my own fairly easily and it doesn't stop me from doing much unless I'm having a mega bad day. This pain in my hip is stopping me from doing quite a lot so it's very annoying

  • Like you said, it does sound nerve related. I've got a compressed nerve and it goes down my arm and into two fingers only so they know which nerve it is based on that. You saying it's in your toe would suggest it's the nerve that feeds into that, but I guess it could be the fibro as well. You know your body so hopefully you do get answers and can define what's causing it. Just realised that makes no sense as I've said one thing and then another! 😅

A good night's sleep is always a positive as well!

I've got a trapped nerve in my neck which I've had for years but a few years ago I started getting pins and needles in my hands and fingers so I had nerve conduction tests and they were all normal 😳 that has now progressed to me having pins and needles constantly if my arms aren't straight along with stabbing pains in my fingers wrists and elbows. They still can't find a medical reason for this as it's apparently not related to my neck 🤷‍♀️

A lot of people get quite upset when you suggest it's a somatic condition as they think you are suggesting it's all in their head but they don't mean you are imagining your symptoms, the pain generated by your brain is very real but the message that was sent to the brain to generate that pain is faulty. I use the example of phantom limb pain to explain it. The missing limb was once sick and painful so was removed but your brain doesn't know this so still sends the signal that the missing limb is hurting which gives you pain where it's impossible to actually be. It's very weird how your brain can effect your body. I realised a few years after I was diagnosed that it's mental trauma that I've suffered from my family life and adulthood that caused my pain. It ramped up the year my sister died and I literally couldn't get up my stairs I was so weak and in so much pain. I was off work for months until one day I realised stress made it worse so I started working on that and I slowly improved. It's been up and down ever since and I think at the moment the situation with my mum and dad is probably making things worse. I'm not sure about the hip pain but the Fibro is 100% stress related and I'm also someone who doesn't express their emotions I just lock it away somewhere and that doesn't help

It's amazing what the brain does but I suppose nearly everything else is mediated through it so it makes sense that it has such wide-ranging effects.

That's really strange that they have said that it's not connected. I have the same with pins and needles and they've told me it is because of my compressed nerve. I guess it depends where the nerve is compressed.

I hope you get answers though and some relief from the pain.
