  • Hope the new diet helps B.
Me too 🤞I need to find out what stage kidney disease she has so will find out with the next bloods. If she doesn't seem like she is happy I'm going to let her go but I feel like I need to try this first

I went into town 🎉🎉🎉 but I kind of regretted it because the high street was closed so there was a massive diversion for the bus. I was only out for an hour and a half so not too bad considering the chaos in town 😀

I just bought some cheese topped rolls from Mr S because they didn't have the burger buns I like and I think it was a big mistake.......they are sooooo nice and will be seriously addictive 😳

Ive bought more bird seed because my friendly neighbourhood squirrel keeps eating it all. I need to buy a squirrel proof feeder really but they didn't have any decent ones in Wilkos . I have bought some kibbled peanuts to try and divert him / her from the bird food but I'm not sure that will work. They didn't have any meal worms so the chicken will have to wait, she has got some left so it's not desperate yet

B was very bouncy and excited when I got home so thats a good sign. She was a bit slow on her walk this morning and decided halfway up the hill to turn round and come home. I let her dictate where we go within reason and she normally chooses to go along the lane and back but obviously didn't fancy it today. She is now snoring away on the settee ( on a blanky with loads of puppy pads underneath just in case 😬)

Im just having my lunch and then I'm going out to clean out the chicken and let her have a run round the garden. It's horrible and drizzly here today so I really don't want to go out there but it needs doing today.

I also forgot to post yesterday that I had the quote back for having my radiators changed and it's a lot less than I was thinking it would be so I'm going to book that in to be done. I can't wait because they are putting one back in the bathroom for me so no more freezing cold bathroom in the winter 🎉🎉🎉

Awwww poor B. It’s so sad to see them unhappy 🥺
Can your radiator man give you a quote /advice for your bathroom or does he just do heating. When we had our bathroom done about 7 years ago - it’s a tiny room. I wanted a built in sink but the units were all too wide. I also wanted a decent sized sink, not a cloakroom sized one. I mentioned this to a man we had looking at the boiler and he offered to have a look and came up with a suggestion of putting the taps at the opposite side of the bath so we could have a shower head fitted above the taps (there’s a window above where the taps used to be and a shower couldn’t be put above the old taps) He put the toilet and sink in situ and then built and tiled a made to measure unit. I’d never have thought of turning the direction of the bath around, he also drilled grip handles into the sides of the only size bath we could fit in….it was only the bigger baths that had handles in all the showrooms. Dh  wanted a shower but I love my bath and personally wouldn’t buy a house without a bath….but I know I’m in the minority. My only concern a few years down the line is what happens if it ever goes kaput. You need to do what is right for you and if you a shower makes life easier then that’s the way to go. If people love the house when they come to buy but want a bath…it can always be done by them. A lovely bathroom for your convenience but also a selling point 👍
    January spends - £587.58
  • I love it when it's less than you were expecting. It always feels like a little win, and especially with having one put back in the bathroom too.

Hopefully you can do something else with the other money you had set aside for it? Maybe a treat for you? X

Thanks Milann she seems to be up and down. I've had quite a few wavy tails today which she hasn't don't for a while but going for a walk is too much sometimes. She struggles going uphill but on the way back she trots along quite happily.

It didn't occur to me that the central heating people might also do bathrooms . I will look into it 😊

The money is coming out of my pension lump sum so if I spend less on the radiators it will leave more money for all the other jobs that need doing so no treats for me ....although having a radiator in the bathroom will be a treat 😀

  • I have had a very productive day today . My pain levels weren't as bad so I got on with some jobs.
The first was cleaning out the chicken run which was a mess, She has a lovely clean bed now and the old bedding is on the floor of the run. The old stuff from the run has  been spread around the borders in the garden where it will be taken down into the soil by the rain and worms. I have a hedge along the border that has got a bit straggly so when the weather cheers up I'm going to give it a good prune to see if I can rejuvenate it. It's an  Escalonia that I planted for the bees but it's not getting many flowers now so needs to be sorted. I also refilled all the bird feeders so the squirrel will be happy 😀

I then did some of my  paint be numbers for half an hour. It's very relaxing and a lot of fun.

Then it was up to the bedroom to hang the Ikea curtains and they look really good. They are floor length which I don't normally have but they look quite nice so I will leave them long.

While I was there I spent a bit of time scraping some of the paint off the wall . One wall has had to be stripped back to the plaster because the wallpaper took the paint off, of course it didn't all come off so left an uneven covering but I've got rid of most of it today. I wasn't planning on doing that today but there was a bit sticking up and before I knew it I'd stripped most of the wall 😀

While I was tidying up the mess I noticed a small pile of paperwork that was supposed to be in my box file so I ended up clearing out loads of old paper work that I don't need anymore and now my box file is much emptier, organised and labelled . I cleared out all the old mortgage statements and just kept the letter telling me I've paid my mortgage off so that made loads of room 😊I can't be doing with keeping old paperwork.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to do some more bits in my bedroom but will have to see how my hands and wrists feel after today's activities
