Hi , the dwp might cancel the call next week if they have already decided you are entitled to the higher rate ESA , just a thought , although no doubt the departments won't communicate with each other , good luck xx

Honestly, @Onebrokelady, what a palava it sounds, just trying to sort out the nuts & bolts of what you're entitled to. You are doing well to manage it all. I think most dealing with officialdom can be tiring & frustrating, but when you're poorly too, it adds another layer.
    Take care now,

Nice to hear from you,  hope all the bureaucracy is resolved soon.

I'm so sorry to read about all the unwanted hassle you've been going through with these various Government departments - especially as you're not well!  The right hand never seems to know what the left hand is doing!  And you are quite right!  Why don't they ask for all the information in one go?  Instead of making the whole process one long painful draw-out! They must have a list of all the information that will be required?
Hopefully you're coming to at the end of this palaver!

Thanks for the replies everyone 🙂unfortunately the chaos continues as I got another letter from the ESA people yesterday telling me my sick note for May had expired and could I send them a new one by may the 17th…….erm it’s August now …… I phoned them and after being on hold for 40 minutes spoke to a nice helpful person who said they probably won’t get the certificates I’ve posted until at least the 27th of August so to check again then if they don’t message me to say they have received them. It’s so annoying because HMRC have taxed my pension because they have been told I’m receiving ESA so I’m down £91.80 a month at the moment. The DWP really need to sort themselves out 😡I also used benefit calculator again yesterday and it says I should be getting around £300 a month but I’m not being paid anything because of my pension of £674 a month.

Today I spent the day at home and had a good clean around but I was what I was wheezing away the whole time. I was getting ready for bed just now and I just thought I don’t want to live like this anymore. I’m so tired of fighting for everything and ending up with nothing.

Eurgh! It's so frustrating that they treat people like this, especially people who need the support of a functioning straight forward system the most. I'm sorry you've had such a rough time with it all.
I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.
