The Diary Of Onebrokelady Aged 60 And A Half

I’ve had a busy few days
On Friday I went over to DD1s to look after the kids while she worked from home. I just had to supervise as she was there in another room but it’s easier for her if there’s someone there to entertain them and get snacks, lunch etc. They were quite tired after a busy end of term so we just relaxed in the morning, then after lunch we had a mad game of snakes and ladders which went on for ages. We had a bit of screen time so they could play their games and I also got them to do a PE session with me so I could do some of my exercises 😀
Friday evening I went to DD2s for tea and stayed overnight. We then went to IKEA on Saturday because she needed a few bits. I finally bought some curtains and an extension lead. I have one of these extension leads upstairs and it’s also got two USB ports which is really handy and I’ve been wanting one for downstairs for months so finally got one.
Today I went back to DD1s because it was my eldest grandsons birthday so they had a birthday barbecue which was nice. Both boys were very tired though because they went to London yesterday to the Minecraft Experience which they really enjoyed.
Tomorrow I’m going to the dentist to hopefully have my tooth fixed 🤞🤞I was supposed to have it done last Monday but they cancelled it until tomorrow. It’s been until today when it started throbbing again so I took lots of painkillers which did the trick.
I still need to phone HMRC about the tax situation because I haven’t received an ESA payment yet but my payment date for other benefits is the 3rd of the month so I’m waiting to see if anything turns up then and if not I will be phoning them.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1204 -
Hope you get the ESA sorted soon.
The birthday celebrations sounded lovely. As did the snakes and ladders 👍January spends - £587.582 -
Missing you! I hope all's well? Did the dentist manage to cure your tooth pain? And did your ESA come through?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Sorry everyone I’m ok just been really tired so not doing a lot. I have had so many flaming appointments with the job centre it’s ridiculous, I didn’t know if I was coming or going. I eventually lost the plot yesterday and messaged them via my journal to ask why I’m having to go to all these job commitment appointments when actually have a job am on long term sickness and have been diagnosed with a terminal illness. Today I got a message back to say they had all been cancelled. I then got another message to say that after they have reviewed the health questionnaire I sent back I will no longer have to attend for appointments or present any sick certificates and they have put me in the group that is limited capability for work and work related activity which mean if they do decide to pay me at some point I will receive the higher amount.I am still sorting out the ESA and they are driving me mad, they ask for one piece of info so you send that then a week or so later they ask for something else, why don’t they ask for it all at the same time to save time and effort. I had to send them an SSP1 form to state I’m not getting any SSP which my employer should have sent me when my SSP ended. I’ve now sent them that form and every sick certificate that I’ve been given this year so they should have all the info they need. I have a phone appointment with them next Wednesday where I expect they will grill me on my health issues.I still haven’t heard anything from the respiratory team but I’ve had my lung function tests and they’ve got my latest CT scan so they should be in contact soon I hope. The lung function tests were horrible, I did ok on the basic spirometry but other test where you have to breath a gas in and out was impossible to do as it just set my cough off. I have had a pain in my right side ever since I tried to do that test and would like to say I don’t won’t to do it again but it’s one they will need in the future. I didn’t have to do the six minute walk test so that was ok.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201

Good to hear from you again, though that's awful about all the appointments. Clearly a lack of joined up thinking on their part. I wonder if it's worth putting in a complaint?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
