foxgloves said:You have been busy out & about, @Onebrokelady, which is good to hear. Weeding doesn't sound very physical, but it is. I find that even if I'm on my kneeler supposedly concentrating on just weeding a defined area well, I tend to be digging out deep roots & stretching way too far to grab out of reach weeds. Books, money & flowers are lovely presents.

I love peonies! I always think it's a good idea to have vouchers and money as presents rather than getting something you won't use - that's what I asked for when folk asked me what I wanted for my big birthday that was recently. As Ive been losing quite a bit of weight I need new clothes so the cash and M&S vouchers come in really handy!

The first time I ever saw a cat being taken for a walk was some years ago when I was in New York. I was absolutely gobsmacked at how it looked quite relaxed about it!Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

My diary: “Seasidegal's Scrimpy Retirement Diary!”3 -
I’ve just read my previous post and I’m surprised anyone understood anything that I wrote due to the amount of typos 😀 I clearly didn’t read it before I posted 😂
I met my friend for coffee today so we had a good catch up. I had plans to do things when I got home but I was so exhausted today I didn’t do much at all. I did change my bed so I’ve got nice fresh bedding now.I also got an email from my boss to say she has set up a meeting with HR on the 18th of June via zoom so that will be interesting 😀 let’s see if I can use it.I also got a call from the IT help desk and they said my boss had mailed them so they could now set me up with a new email account but that the old one has been deleted completely so any info that was in there is now lost😳 He was a bit confused because I said I was off sick so he wanted to wait until I go back to sort it out and when I told him I’m not going back he didn’t want to set me up at all ( the NHS are very particular about their email) so I told him that technically I’m still an employee until my retirement comes through and that I need an email account so HR and the pension people can contact me so he set me up in the end🍾🥳🍾
I got a reply from payroll saying that because I’m not being paid anymore there is nothing to put on a payslip slip so I won’t get one.
The paperwork from the pension people still hasn’t arrived and I still haven’t heard from the hospital about my appointment ☹️
Tomorrow I’ve got my appointment at the job centre so we will see how that goes.
im not feeling too good so Ive had a nice shower and got into bed. My chest has been very irritated this week and I’m getting more out of breath than usual so I don’t know if I’ve just got worse , it’s pollen or I’m coming down with something. I hope it’s not the latter because I haven’t got the energy to be even worse than I am.
It’s been miserable here today with mostly rain and cloud so im hoping the sunny weather will come back soon. I know we need this rain so I won’t begrudge it.
I did my financial check in today as well to make sure my budget is on track and everything is looking good for this month. I have enough money to cover all my bills and food so that’s good. Next month will be tricky if I don’t get any benefits so I will need to top up from my savings but I was expecting that so it’s not a shock.
Im still paying my debts off to PRA but that is gong to have to change because after this month I won’t be able to afford it. I’ve been in touch with their customer service and they were very helpful. They did send me a form to fill out to show my income and expenditure but accidentally shredded it 😀. I’m going to contact them again once I’ve had my appointment to request my debts are written off due to me not being able to work because of my health.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1205 -
Made it to my appointment at the job center on time despite the buses not turning up 😡 I walked down to the train station and got a more reliable bus that goes to the airport, I could have done without have to walk down to the station though. The appointment went well and the man I saw was very helpful, he’s told me to claim New style ESA as well and they will see which one is the best for me . We looked at PIP but I wouldn’t score on any of the questions about care yet but might on mobility so I will have a go at that too. I have to go back on Wednesday for a capability for work assessment which he said should just be a formality seeing as I’m signed off work at the moment and have a terminal illness. I should get my first payment on the 3rd of July but I don’t know how much it will be yet
Saturday I met DD1 with DGS1 we went for a coffee and to look round the book shop, we would have gone further but it was chucking it down so it was miserable. I was in bed by 7.30 and read my book before falling asleep listening to the rain.
Today I met DD2 and we went to the cinema to see The Salt Path which was good but I don’t think they did as good a job of it as they could have, they missed out lot# from the story and there were lots of sweeping views where nothing happened which was beautifully filmed but they sacrificed little bits of the story, in the book they make friends with a couple who they keep bumping into but they don’t feature in the film at all which was weird. I did enjoy it though. We went to a local cafe for a drink after before I got my bus home ,this cafe is also a health food shop and we were really happy to find they sold the lovely herb pate that we both like, H&B used to sell it but stopped and I’ve been looking for it ever since .
Im now back in bed not feeling too good but will hopefully feel better tomorrow after a good sleep. I think my body has caught onto the fact that im on a low dose of steroids now so im aching and tired which is annoying. I’ve got an app to have my covid jab tomorrow but apart from that I’m not doing anything else

You deserve your quiet day tomorrow - you've fitted enough in recently. I'm glad to hear your appointment went well and you've been able to meet up with your daughters.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

I agree about the Salt Path. It was good but missed so much out."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2

I try to avoid watching anything I've read or reading anything I've watched as somehow they always seem to be a bit of a disappointment. I would enjoy both I'm sure if only they hadn't become linked in my head.3

I agree about the Salt Path. Not nearly as good as the book, but my friend who hadn’t read the book seemed to enjoy it more than I did as she had no comparison to make.January spends - £587.582
