I’d really get some support from your local services about filling the forms in, here our local carers group will help you.  You might get low rate care and low rate mobility which will all help you pay for extras like taxis etc etc

I could talk you through it if you want to message me ?
Thanks I would like to talk to someone who knows the ins and outs. I think I’m having trouble thinking of myself as someone who might need these things.
Feel free to message me and we can have a conversation x

I know I’m wondering if a complaint needs to be made  to be honest but the trouble with working for the NHS is I don’t like to complain about it 😀

Yes you're right I forget that I have days where I sleep all day, I’ve been doing that for so long it’s just normal for me
I suppose it's a bit like working for any organisation where you are both employee and client... but you didn't sign up to be part of something where possibly important things are missed, and perhaps if you complain, it will get that tiny bit better, or they will be a bit more vigilant and thereby help someone they might otherwise have missed.

I worked for many years with people with complex needs, yet somehow never worked with an autistic person. Eventually more diagnoses were made and people with autism started to come to our service. The biggest surprise was discovering I'm autistic myself (but it makes sense of so much).

I really think we are all somehow 'needy' or whatever you like to call it. As I saw quoted from a person with a  visible disability, 'We are all disabled, just with some of us, it shows'.

But yes, it can be tricky swapping places and becoming the one on the receiving end.

That must be hard to witness in your Mum. Perhaps the iron tablets will buck her up if she thinks they are 'curing' her? She has been through a major change, though, and it would be surprising if she didn't have a reaction. And as you say, at 92, things are going to tire her more.

The bedroom sounds lovely. I would love to do ours up but there are just too many things on the list ahead of it. Still, I could give it some thought, and perhaps that will give me something to aim for. Sleep well tonight!

The thing is is she will take it for a few days and it won’t make a difference so she will stop using it and say it doesn’t work 🙄

I had to make my bedroom a priority because it was mouldy in places which isn’t helping my chest, it’s all been treated now and hasn’t come back yet so hopefully it will stay that way

Yes we do 😀  it’s the Vue cinema chain and they are really comfortable. Sadly they arms tanking The Salt Path over next weekend so we are going to the independent cinema instead. I have a drink before so that will help with pain relief 😀

You have been busy out & about, @Onebrokelady, which is good to hear. Weeding doesn't sound very physical, but it is. I find that even if I'm on my kneeler supposedly concentrating on just weeding a defined area well, I tend to be digging out deep roots & stretching way too far to grab out of reach weeds. Books, money & flowers are lovely presents.

I love it that you took the cat out for a walk on the harness!😻 it's great that it was fine about it!
I love peonies!  I always think it's a good idea to have vouchers and money as presents rather than getting something you won't use - that's what I asked for when folk asked me what I wanted for my big birthday that was recently.  As Ive been losing quite a bit of weight I need new clothes so the cash and M&S vouchers come in really handy!
