I woke up feeling yucky this morning but once I had a shower and breakfast  and had taken my pain meds I started to feel a lot better. I'm hoping I have turned a corner 🤞🤞I did sleep a lot yesterday and slept really well last night so that will have helped.
Today I have managed to wash the sofa covers . I put them on the radiators to dry and they are now back on the settee 🎉🎉they wash really well and dry really quickly which I am grateful for. I also had enough energy to run the hoover round which I was itching to do 😀  everywhere looks lovely and clean now.

B was a lot perkier this morning when I took her out. We saw another dog in the distance and she was actually trotting along trying to catch up. She has been asleep all day since though.

Next door has been there all day working on the house. He said  the carpets are going in next Friday then it's going on the market but I didn't ask of he meant for sale or rent. He keeps changing his mind 🙄last week he said he had a tenant but that must have fallen through 🤷‍♀️ They have done a lot of work on it though and the garden looks much better, in fact I need to sort mine out now too or he will put me to shame 😀

I am itching to get out in my garden this year. I'm hoping the new neighbours will look after next door and will be non smokers so I can sit out on my patio without inhaling their smoke and listening to foul language all day 🤞🤞I don't mind if they vape as although it's not good for them at least it smells nice😀

My front garden is ok apart from lots of leaves. I have a lovely clump of purpley pink Hellebores growing out there at the moment. There were some white ones as well but they must have died 😟 I need to paint the outside of the front of the house but I'm waiting for nice weather to do that. I will have lots of time to do jobs now I have 5 days off a week. I just need to get over this bug then I can get cracking again

Payday from work was yesterday so I now have all my pay for the month. My pension is paid on the 16th which is potentially a pain or a bonus I'm not sure which yet. I took the money I want to save out of the pension money this month and put it away because I don't trust myself enough not to get excited and fritter it away. I've become very conscious of my spendy voice resurfacing trying to convince me I can afford to buy whatever so I need to keep an eye on myself. I know I can't be trusted to make sensible decisions with large amounts of cash ( the horse saga taught me that ) so I'm making sure I take my time to decide what I need to spend money on rather than what I would like to spend money on ( house repairs versus a riding holiday in wales being one example 😀)  I do intend to enjoy myself along the way but need to be sensible at the same time . I am thinking of opening a second current account to put my personal spends in and maybe my food money too so the bills account is separate but I don't know if it's a good idea or not

I think it’s an excellent idea to separate your fun money from the bills 👍

Good to hear you and B are feeling better! I wonder if B would like a quiet day in between proper walks to recharge her batteries?

Isn't it lovely to be planning for the garden again? You can feel how much the year has already turned.

I think a second account for bills would be useful, as then you know all the money in your spending account is yours!

  • I have four accounts: a pipe repair fund, emergency fund, household bills and personal account. It’s easier to keep track on my money when the bills are paid from separate account, no need to count whether I can buy thing X before water bill goes out. I do the maths when I get my pension and transfer the money to bills account. It’s easy and very practical.

Sadly B doesn't go on proper walks anymore, we just stroll very slowly round the block which is a short walk for her. If she is being very slow I just let her out in the garden or walk her halfway up our road where there is a big green. I don't think she will be going to the beach again or over the fields.

Today was really sunny so would have been a perfect day to get out in the garden but I had things to do indoors. I might venture out there tomorrow if I feel ok because I think the fresh air will do me good

Me too. I was thinking I would leave my main current account as it is as that's where my wages/ pension are paid in then open a second account transfer my  spending money into. I also have accounts for my emergency fund and Christmas/ birthday savings

I've got separate accounts for my emergency fund and Christmas/ birthdays  but I've never had an account for spending money. Mind you I've never really had any spending money so didn't really need one 😂

This is what I have a Chase account for. I put grocery and fuel money into the main Chase account and also put some into the savings account
