Oh dear I had to take the day off work today because I’ve come down with a horrible lurgy. I have a nasty cough which I could really do without and a banging headache and I’ve lost my voice,I’ve spent most of the day asleep and will be going back to bed soon I think. I’m gutted I’ve had to take more time off work as they will moan about it 😩 still can’t be helped.
I also had a phone appointment with my gp today to sort my steroids out and the Rheumatologist still hasn’t sent a treatment plan to the surgery so they are working it out, I don’t know why they couldn’t anyway because they know how it works 🙄 anyway she has sent a prescription to my chemist and I also got her to prescribe me two more inhalers because one of mine has completely run out and the other is getting low. I very rarely use them but I’ve had them for two years so they’ve lasted me a long time. I also asked her about the blood result but she can’t see what I can see on her system which is stupid if you ask me, she said she didn’t understand what it meant either and not to worry about it 😳 so I said I would try and contact the rheumatologist again. My gp wanted to know if the Rheumatologist was going to follow me up and I told her he said he would see me again in three months so in a months time but I’m not confident it will actually happen to be honest but I will hassle them anyway. I hope he has remembered to refer me to the respiratory team like he said he was going to because I am rapidly losing confidence in him 😟
I did have plans for this weekend which involved doing to jobs in the house but I doubt they will get done now if I’m still feeling like this. I think sleeping and reading will be the only thing happening in this houseOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1206 -
Sorry to hear you've come down with something. There have been some horrible things doing the rounds and probably the best thing you can do is give yourself lots of rest to be able to overcome it sooner. Don't worry about the house jobs, just reschedule them for next time you have days off.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Urrgghhhh still battling bugs here . I had a horrible night last night with coughing but did eventually get some sleep. I woke up and actually felt a little bit better than yesterday but now the evening has come round I’m feeling a bit bleugh again. I haven’t slept today so that’s an improvement but might be why I feel worse tonight. I was meant to be going shopping for kitten supplies tomorrow with DD2 but I’m not sure I’ll be able to go now 😟
I have run out of cough syrup and nearly run out of paracetamol so might have to go into town to get some more and I also need some shopping, the shopping could possibly wait until Tuesday but that would mean going out twice. I am going to have to pick up a prescription soon as well but I’m not sure when that will be ready. I have a thing when I have a cold where I like to have Heinz cream of tomato soup so I might get some tomorrow, I was very sad that I didn’t have any but I only eat it when I’m ill so it’s not something I keep in the house, I do have some of those bake yourself baguettes in the freezer that would be lovely with soup 😍😍 I did make a cottage pie tonight for my tea so I can eat that for the next few days and I’ve got mashed swede and carrot in the freezer that will go with it. I had some for my tea and it was sooooo good, proper comfort food.
The upside of being ill for three days is I haven’t spent any money so have clocked up three NSDs 😂 I also got a load of washing done today so at least some productivity happened. I finished my book and I’m just about to start another so that’s 7 of my target of 52. The next book I’m reading is the sequel to For The Wolf and is called For The Throne and it’s told from the other daughter’s perspective so I’m quite excited to see what happens. I’m also enjoying BorrowBox and the access it allows me to the magazines I like but don’t want spend money on. I stopped buying magazines when I had my light bulb moment but sometimes would buy the odd one and I was always disappointed in the fact that half of articles were not relevant to me and of course the adverts so BorrowBox is a good idea because I can flick through and just read the bits that interest me without feeling guilty that I’ve wasted money on something that will ultimately end up in the recycling . I’ve never really like reading e mags but if it’s saving me money I will suck it up 😂

Well done on the free magazines and the NSDs. I hope your prescription comes through quickly so you can combine trips into town.
Funny thing about the tomato soup: my husband used to have it every time he was ill. I should probably pop a couple in my emergency food cupboard just in case.
I often feel at my worst at the ends of the day. I don't think it means the lurgy is winning, but it's lurgy plus fatigue plus darkness and the body is trying to wind down. In the morning there's the wait for coffee and painkillers to kick in. I hope tomorrow is better.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
