That's really odd. Have you asked you daughter if she'd noticed it's missing?
I spoke to her but she is didn’t notice it was gone when she was here over Christmas, I’m sure it was there this week and I noticed it as soon as I looked at the door so feel like I would have noticed if it was gone before that.

How very odd, OBL. We had a couple of ours  replaced a few years ago & the door handles did indeed need to be removed in order to get the old ones out. What a mystery!

It is indeed a mystery😳it’s freaked me out a bit because the other day I came home and could smell cigarette smoke in my house but not like someone has been in here and I said to my DD it smelled like someone had been in my house but since I had covid I do sometimes smell smoke so put it down to that. Then I have to ask myself why on earth would someone come into my house and remove part of the door but not run off with any valuables 😀😀

    Hope it turns up……very strange.
I actually spent time searching for it around the kitchen but it’s not there. It’s driving me nuts 😀

That door catch is an absolute mystery. I've been racking my brains over it. It was a good idea to check it hadn't broken & fallen inside the door.
Hope you get to see your friend. The ice has been awful here. Mr F has just gone out to thaw the car ready for his journey to work & temperatures are expected to be even lower here tonight. I've dug out some woolly tights!

Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

How strange about the door catch, I hope you get to the bottom of it. I rarely post on local FB groups for the very reason there is always a random man who makes a nasty/sarcastic comment which annoys me and I have to stop myself from saying something nasty back.

I hope you manage to get the catch up with your friend today.

Could the door catch have fallen into some rubbish & got thrown out accidently?

That is so weird about the door!
