Just catching up on you. Glad you had a lovely Xmas. I was laughing at the superstitions because it brought back memories of my mum and Nan with their superstitions 🤣 Nan is Irish and seems to have one about everything. I remember putting some new shoes on a table once at her house to show her them and she jumped up like a cat next to a cucumber (if you've ever seen them videos you'll know what I mean) and swiped them off the table scolding me and freaking out simultaneously about someone dying now. 😳. Now I do it without thinking to my kids 🤣
I hope you get work sorted. Ironic that matron chose a career in caring for people but neglects to care for staff they work with. My Nan was a sister in a ward and I remember her moaning endlessly about a matron ....seems you need to be quite hardened / lost empathy to reach matron levels 😳🤣
Sadly the NHS is full of managers that don’t look after their staff which is a shame because they would get much better results if they did. This particular matron has a negative view of the whole HCA team just because of the actions of a couple of staff members who have both left now, they lied to skive off and now she thinks we are all like that apart from one person who knows how to charm but is the laziest out of everyone 😀😀 this of us who quietly get on with it are just overlooked until something goes wrong like sickness. I am putting my foot down now though as I want no live long enough to enjoy my retirement, ive worked myself into the ground for 33 years and my poor body is paying the price nowOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1206 -
Oh dear aren’t people strange….. I posted about my door on a diy group I’m on on FB last night just to see if there was anything I hadn’t considered in the whole debacle. I got lots of lovely replies telling me it’s not possible for that to happen ( so I was right ) and some telling me how to fix it which is helpful but one man said it can’t come out and because the screws are missing I must have removed it myself and posted the question to get attention, likes, comments 😳😀😀😀who would do that, he says the post is a lie because I posted as anonymous so I replied to tell him that I posted anonymous because in the post I tell people I live on my own and I didn’t want some random strangers on the internet knowing who I was 😀😀
Anyway some one said it’s possible for these things to to break inside and the inside bit can fall inside the door so when I got home today I took the handles off and there’s no hole for it to fall in so that’s not what’s happened and also the metal plate you can see on the edge of the door would have been on the floor with two screws if it had broken. My friends husband says he didn’t take it out back when I had my floor done but he was going to ask his workmate today if he had done it, I’m seeing her tomorrow so will ask if he asked him. I swear it was there before though 😀
Today I worked in OPD and it was a really nice shift. I was supposed to walk from work into town but it was sleeting very heavily and my work shoes aren’t waterproof so I got the bus instead, it was freezing out there and by the time I got home it was snowing properly, it didn’t settle though because it had been raining earlier so it was too wet
I did my minimum jobs when I got home which was to change my bed and put a load of washing on then I fell asleep on the settee for two hours 😳I’m still having trouble with tiredness and really should have tried to stay awake in case it affects my sleep tonight but I just couldn’t keep my eyes open so I gave in. I’m still tired so I don’t think I’ll have trouble sleeping. I finished my fourth book of January today which was a thriller I bought on Saturday, I’m now going to read the other book a I bought which is by Antony Horowitz who is one of my favourite authors, I can’t remember what it’s called though so will put that in my next post.
Money wise things are going ok. I’ve paid nearly all my bills and I’m on track with my budget this month. I haven’t managed any NSDs yet sadly so I need to work on that ,part of that is due to bad planning and part of it was due to buying some bits that my mum needed when I went to see her on Tuesday so I sorted them on amazon while I was at her house otherwise I forget. Mum was wondering if there was a gadget for getting pills out of blister packs because she broke her nail trying to get them out and low an behold I found something on Amazon they come in a pack of two so I’m going to have the other one because I have cut my fingers open twice in the last couple of weeks trying to get into blister packs. I think they have made them stronger to stop kids being able to get in them so easily but it’s no good if you’ve got weak hands 🙄
Tomorrow I’m off to meet my friend for coffee if the weather isn’t awful, it was like an ice rink here this morning. I’m not going out until 11.30 though so hopefully it will have defrosted by then. We haven’t see each other since the middle of December so we are desperate to catch up 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1205 -
That door catch is an absolute mystery. I've been racking my brains over it. It was a good idea to check it hadn't broken & fallen inside the door.
Hope you get to see your friend. The ice has been awful here. Mr F has just gone out to thaw the car ready for his journey to work & temperatures are expected to be even lower here tonight. I've dug out some woolly tights!

How strange about the door catch, I hope you get to the bottom of it. I rarely post on local FB groups for the very reason there is always a random man who makes a nasty/sarcastic comment which annoys me and I have to stop myself from saying something nasty back.
I hope you manage to get the catch up with your friend today.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -
Could the door catch have fallen into some rubbish & got thrown out accidently?
