  • Well done on the free magazines and the NSDs. I hope your prescription comes through quickly so you can combine trips into town.

Funny thing about the tomato soup: my husband used to have it every time he was ill. I should probably pop a couple in my emergency food cupboard just in case.

I often feel at my worst at the ends of the day. I don't think it means the lurgy is winning, but it's lurgy plus fatigue plus darkness and the body is trying to wind down. In the morning there's the wait for coffee and painkillers to kick in. I hope tomorrow is better.
Ahh I’m glad it’s not just me who likes tomato soup when I’ll, I wondering if it was something my mum gave us if we were ill as kids but I can’t remember. I might have to keep a tin in the cupboard just in case as I expect it has a long expiry date.

I think you’re right and I’m just feeling ropey because it’s the end of the day and I’m a bit tired. I’m going to take myself off to bed in a minute and will hopefully have a better night than I did last night, I’m definitely not coughing as much as I was yesterday so fingers crossed this will be gone by Wednesday when I’m due back at work 🤞🤞🤞
Lidl do a lovely Cream of Tomato and Basil soup, it has no wheat and is 20 % off just now. It's really like Heinz.

Thank goodness you were able to be seen by a doctor. It sounds so similar to what my DGD has, and the antibiotics are helping there though she still has a cough (but it's less than it was).

Sleep well, and I hope you feel better soon.

Don’t rush back to work too quickly. You need to recover properly. The last thing you need is to pick another lot of lurgy up.

    Sadly I don’t have a Lidl near me 😟

No I shouldn’t even be thinking about it but I’ve had too much time off already so I’m a bit worried about taking any more. One of my colleagues finished her  shift with a collapsed lung back in December because they were so short she didn’t feel able to leave

I don’t think I will be able to anyway because I feel too ill. I can’t even hold a conversation without getting out of breath so I can’t go back like that. It’s still only Wednesday though so a miracle might happen tomorrow 😀

Oh no 😳the thought of a small child feeling like this is awful, I do hope she makes a speedy recovery xx

  • Day five of the lurgy from hell and I’m still feeling quite poorly. I woke up this morning and got up to feed the cat then I went back to bed and didn’t wake up until 1.30. I didn’t sleep well last night because my rattling chest was keeping me awake
I’ve lost my appetite again so not eaten much today. I did make myself eat an orange and a banana and I’ve had some toast and peanut butter but that’s it.

I got a message today from Boots to say my prescription is ready to collect so I will go and get that tomorrow. I would leave it until Friday but I will run out of steroids plus my inhalers are newly empty and I’m having to use them a few times a day at the moment. These prescriptions were sent to the chemist last Friday and they are only just ready now 😡 I think I had better wear a mask when I go out as when I went out to the surgery the cold air really irritated my chest
