The Diary Of Onebrokelady Aged 60 And A Half

I got up early and managed to snag an early morning Gp appointment today so I was seen and sorted by 9.30. I have a nasty chest infection which has caused mild pleurisy so I’m glad I went when I did before it got worse. I now have anti biotics for ten days so hopefully that will clear it up 🤞🤞
After picking up my prescription from the chemist next to the surgery I walked very very slowly to the local shop which is just along the road from my surgery ( my surgery is a ten minute walk down the hill) I bought myself some tomato soup, oranges, paracetamol and a big bar of fruit and nut to cheer me up 😀 I then walked very slowly back up my hill which I have to say nearly killed me. Once home I had a cup of tea then went to sleep on the settee for a few hours. I haven’t done anything else today as I’ve just not felt like it. I phoned work to let them know I won’t be there tomorrow and I will let them know about Friday on Thursday
DD2 phoned me on her way home from work so we had a catch up, she is very excited about getting her kitten 😀
I have also been able to eat today so I had my cottage pie for tea and it was yummy
I started a new book today as well it’s called The Herons Cry by Anne Cleeves and I’m enjoying it so far. I was reading For The Throne but it was awful so I gave up on it ,the first book was good and I was looking forward to the second but it just wasn’t as good and I really wasn’t enjoying it sadly.
Im off to bed now as Im not feeling great but will hopefully sleep well and feel a bit better tomorrow 🤞🤞Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8945 -

Funny thing about the tomato soup: my husband used to have it every time he was ill. I should probably pop a couple in my emergency food cupboard just in case.
I often feel at my worst at the ends of the day. I don't think it means the lurgy is winning, but it's lurgy plus fatigue plus darkness and the body is trying to wind down. In the morning there's the wait for coffee and painkillers to kick in. I hope tomorrow is better.I think you’re right and I’m just feeling ropey because it’s the end of the day and I’m a bit tired. I’m going to take myself off to bed in a minute and will hopefully have a better night than I did last night, I’m definitely not coughing as much as I was yesterday so fingers crossed this will be gone by Wednesday when I’m due back at work 🤞🤞🤞4 -
Thank goodness you were able to be seen by a doctor. It sounds so similar to what my DGD has, and the antibiotics are helping there though she still has a cough (but it's less than it was).
Sleep well, and I hope you feel better soon.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Get well soon @Onebrokelady. I know what you mean about work but should you even be considering going in when you have pleurisy?! Take care of yourself love Humdinger xx3

Don’t rush back to work too quickly. You need to recover properly. The last thing you need is to pick another lot of lurgy up.January spends - £587.583

Day five of the lurgy from hell and I’m still feeling quite poorly. I woke up this morning and got up to feed the cat then I went back to bed and didn’t wake up until 1.30. I didn’t sleep well last night because my rattling chest was keeping me awake
I’ve lost my appetite again so not eaten much today. I did make myself eat an orange and a banana and I’ve had some toast and peanut butter but that’s it.
I got a message today from Boots to say my prescription is ready to collect so I will go and get that tomorrow. I would leave it until Friday but I will run out of steroids plus my inhalers are newly empty and I’m having to use them a few times a day at the moment. These prescriptions were sent to the chemist last Friday and they are only just ready now 😡 I think I had better wear a mask when I go out as when I went out to the surgery the cold air really irritated my chestOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8942
