milann said:Pleased you had a lovely Christmas. The debts are going in the right direction for you 👏 it makes sense to get as much behind you in savings, just in case you do have to finish work. Hope the medication helps so you don’t have to but if that’s what it takes to live a pain free life, it’s what needs to happen. How long now until you retire?I bought the gks craft goodies for Christmas as they spend lots of time doing crafty things. I bought them both a bag from the works to pack them in. The eldest one loves books and the quote said ‘so many books….so little time’ (or something very similar) she was more thrilled with the £1 bag than some of the contents 😂😂😂

Work went ok yesterday as I was in clinics. I did have to remind myself how to use the computer system but it soon came back to me 😀 clinics aren’t so bad because I can sit down however I was very tired when I left so I went to sleep for couple of hours when I got home. We had a fun evening last night, I cooked us a roast dinner then we played games for a while before settling down to read.Today I woke at at 7.30 because the bin men were outside but I was exhausted so I went and fed the cat and went back to bed, I woke up at ten am and was still really tired. We stayed at home today and read our books until it was time for DD to get her train. I walked her to the train station then I came back and promptly fell asleep for four hours 😳.
I did get some washing done while I was asleep though so that’s good. I’m off to bed now because I’m still tired 🥱Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8944 -
You needed that sleep! It sounds as though you and your daughter had a nice time, very cosy.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Woke up at nine this morning after sleeping all night and had to really talk myself I out of going back to bed at 11am. I made myself stay up all day because it’s getting a bit ridiculous now. I got the rest of my washing done plus washed my bedding and put fresh bedding on the bed. I have to get all the washing done so I don’t need to do any on New Year’s Day because it’s bad luck. I’m very superstitious 😀 are any of you as daft as me ?The house has been cleaned and I’ve been out and topped up the chickens bed plus made sure she has extra food and clean water. The bird tables have been filled up and the squirrels have lots of nuts to eat. I message DD2 today to see how she is because when she left she was brewing another cold and she says she feels rough so that’s a shame, she’s got to go to work tomorrow poor thing 😟
I did spend some of today reading and eating chocolates and I also watched the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special which I really enjoyed . I haven’t watched all of the series or episodes of Gavin and Stacey but the ones I have watched I’ve loved so I thought I would watch the finale and it’s did t dissapoint.
Tomorrow I’m thinking I might pop into town because I need some bits such as cat treats and milk. I am also looking for some decent walking shoes so might have a look and buy some with the money my mum gave me for Christmas. I also quite like window shopping knowing I can buy something if I want to while having no intention of buying anything at all 😀 I think I just need to get out of the house for a bit so that will do me good. I think I will walk into town as well to stretch my legs. Of course I might wake up absolutely exhausted again and won’t end up going anywhere but we will see how I am in the morning.
Im thinking I will pop over to my mums on New Year’s Eve in the afternoon if my sister and her partner have gone home. They came down on boxing day to scatter Dads ashes on the 27th but I’m not sure how long they were staying for. I made a toast to Dad when we were having our roast dinner on the evening of the 27th and wished him a happy heavenly birthday. It’s been weird because I haven’t spent christmas with my mum and dad for several years now so I didn’t get the missing him at Christmas feelings you would normally get. I miss him when I go to the house and see his empty chair and the I noticed the mug I bought him for Father’s Day one year has gone off the mug tree which is sad,I would have liked the mug but wasn’t asked about any of his belongings ,they have just got rid of everything 😟 oh well it can’t be changed now and no point dwelling on it.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8947 -
That's a shame about the mug but you have your memories and no one can take those.
I hope your daughter gets a break from these colds and you have enough energy to walk to town tomorrow.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

It would’ve been lovely if you could’ve kept your dad’s mug but as Cherry says no one can take away your memories.I won’t do washing on NY Day. The last time I did a work colleague said it was bad luck to do the washing and I’d wash someone out of the family. Later that year I lost my mum. Although I don’t consider myself to be superstitious I won’t risk it again. DD still reminds me every year.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

I don't do the washing on NYD either. It's nonsense really but still..."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1
