I am still thinking about some of the crockery and cushions I saw the other week when I was there.  I am telling myself no, not until I move house, although like you we do not need any of them :)

I saved myself £50+ by putting down all the little bits I picked up and saying to myself, do I need this 🤔 and the answer every time was no. (Dammit) 🤣🤔

It’s a terrible shop - too easy to convince myself that I do need everything! That said I do need some crockery so perhaps I should try to visit soon.

I bought some beautiful plates in an antique shop, much nicer than the ones from there for a fraction of the price 😍
Like this- five for a tenner!

That’s a pretty plate but I don’t like eating off something with a pattern 🤦‍♀️ we all have strange things don’t we? I also prefer tea out of certain mugs😂 I thought it was just me but a friend told me the other day that her husband had complained about their new mugs as he likes a finer one for tea too😂

    Happy new tap day🎉

I'm fussy with mugs too. I need a huge one for my morning cuppa and preferably the inside is unpatterned 🤣. Plates though I'm fussy about the size but not the pattern...lol human idiosyncrasies are fun aren't they 🤣.

Yay to the new tap.  That will make life much easier.

Re the crockery, it doesn't help that there is a discount on them this week according to the email I just received.  I have a cupboards full of mugs and plates etc so no need for anymore.  We don't even drink hot drinks in this house other than the very odd hot chocolate so really no need lol.  I guess they know what they are doing at that shop and how to place products to catch the eye, that is why it is so successful.

Definitely! I wouldn't have picked up all the bits I did yesterday if they hadn't been so nicely displayed lol. Thankfully they were put back as really didn't need them 🫣.
  • Okay I've spent an hour gardening today and got my refund for the bra (it's not showing on my account yet though and the lady wasn't sure how to work the machine so I hope it's worked).
DP has fitted the tap but it doesn't get work, he's popped to the shops to get some bits he needed. He's then moving the water filter over as well 👏🏻 and after this is done we will be able to fully remove the old kitchen, ready to make the walls good!

I spoke to DD before she went to work and asked her about DS and apparently her dad has said he's become very withdrawn and depressed. He wasn't much better here, but I should think a new school, needing to start some subjects from scratch (and he's in year 11) doing after school clubs and trying to continuously mask his real emotions in front of the new gf and step siblings will be utterly draining on him. It made me feel really upset again...I tried to call him and it went straight to voicemail. I've tried messaging him, it goes unread, I've tried emailing and it's ignored. I'm really struggling with this especially as I've done sod all wrong. I can't speak to DP about it as he gets angry with ex or super quiet and doesn't have anything constructive to say that I've not already heard. Knowing what to do as opposed to doing it is two different things 😬. Desperately trying to not get as upset as before but to think of my DS struggling just tips me over the edge. 😔 All because ex wanted to 'win' against me.
    - he's not paid any maintenance either today, but I wasn't expecting it, he won't do anything without an argument.

Right, I'm going to empty a cupboard out now, wash up (in old sink, hopefully the last time!) and put clothes in tumble dryer. And distract myself a little so I don't keep pondering DS over and over.
