  • The person selling on v+nted has accepted a lower offer on the second swimsuit which I'm grateful for. If I'd known 100% it would fit i would have paid full price. But I've been here before and it doesn't fit and I've wasted money. So two swimsuits for £40 way better than new. And I'm tempted to take back the sports bra to get a refund (as the suggestion was use it under your usual swimming suit for support - but I don't think it will last long with all the chemicals as it's not swim suit material).

  • Ooo I seem to have got caught in an admin morning but I'm going with it as I hate admin.
I checked our water (with Anglian water) usage and got them to do a bill up to date. The last time I did this when DS2 was home it was coming in as £93 a month usage 🤯. I've just redone it and it says £73 so that's twenty quid a month saved which puts £20 back into the budget 👏🏻 every little helps right now.
The electric and gas has also reduced. I compared last year to this year for more accurate numbers rather than summer months to autumn. £30 less than last year and we have new underfloor heating which is on most of the day.... So that's another saving.
Next job is to see if I can get a refund for that bra, that will pay for the two cossies I just bought.
Then I promise I'll do the ironing 😏🤪 (DP is working on plumbing and tis a bit pongy to be honest 😷).

  • I've had a really productive day and been able to laze about for most of it too 😳😁 I have made about £20 on pr0lific and cashed out £12 something already. Went shopping and spent £85 🤨 not even a week's shop.
Got lots of fresh and organic stuff though which appears to cost more than gold 🤨.
    Did the ironing 🙌🏻.
Messaged my sister this morning after pondering for days on how to approach this as I'm upset at the way I was ignored, and also upset that I wasn't aware of bro In law being sick again. Tried to keep my emotions out of it and sent something along the lines of 'DD told me she'd seen you all and BIL is on chemo again. Really sorry you're going through this and if this is the reason why you've gone radio silent please know I just want to help and offer an ear to whomever needs it.'
She messaged back with something along the lines of, yes she'd felt it coming and that's why she'd gone on holiday (I guess she had to cover that really as that was another elephant in the room that her family and my mum and other sister all went away without even asking me), and done lots of things to make memories as she could see he was declining. She said she didn't want to bother anyone. We've all got our own problems.
So I sent back I'm not just anyone though, I'm your big sister. And last time this happened I tried to help as much as I could to ease her burden and I would have done the same this time. I've told her if she's not okay to send a message saying, I'm not okay!
I've got other friends whom I check in with and if they're not okay they say so and I'm there for them, I find it still upsetting that my sis has ejected me out of her life and once again it's always me to make it right but that's an issue for another day. She needs me and anyone else to support her right now. It's been left at that so we'll see what comes of it.

My friend has not responded to me yet, I'm fearing the worst has happened already. Will leave her be for this evening and check in with her again tomorrow.
Right off to watch a bit of TV before dinner which is a nice easy one because of all the dust- pre made naan bread with pesto to spread on top, sun-dried tomatoes and rocket with side salad 😁 I've been craving salad for days!

  • Thanks @daisy_1571 we chatted a bit more yesterday but it felt very weird to be honest and didn't flow like it used to between us.
My friend finally messaged me back and her husband is getting worse but still here. She's trying to hold down a job, home and look after the children as well as care for him full time. I do feel for her 🫤.

Today we are off to the big 🔵 and 🟡 Swedish shop 😁 DD loves it there 🤣 weird child that she is. We need to order some little bits for the kitchen so need to speak to the kitchen guy who helped us with the size of panels etc before. Then we hope to be home for the little monsters, ghosts and witches that should be flying through our area just after dark 🧙🏻‍♀️👻🧟‍♀️.

DP and I were discussing finances and we are trying to remain calm in the face of uncertainty but it's pretty hard (for me especially) when you just don't have enough information available.... So anyway we'll try to spend minimal out and about... just enough to finish the snagging bits on the kitchen 😁.

We’ve had to belt tighten too. I’ve been comparing what we spent each corresponding week ie the same week last year to this week. It’s been a real eye opener. It’s made me really think about what I buy and the mantra of need vs want plays heavily when out shopping . I agree it’s the uncertainty of it that so frustrating. We ended up with plan A,B,C etc. It really helped subdue the feeling out been out of control of the situation. Sending a virtual hugs.

Morning all, well DD didn't come with us yesterday 🫤 she woke up exhausted and said she didn't want to spend her last day of her holiday traipsing around the shop. I know these aren't her words but parroted off her father whom she spent the day with on Thursday. She's been subdued and locked herself in her bedroom since coming home from spending a few hours with him. This is how it started with DS. 😔🤬. So we left her to it at home and went on our own. She was of course regretful later on when we got back...and tried to blame it on us not waiting for her (not true she blatantly said no don't wanna go). I won't be gaslighted by anyone including DD who's been with idiot ex all day. So I brought her back plant balls and daim cake as I know she likes those. She was happy but also sad as she sometimes asks when can we go to this shop....🤣 So I know she wanted to go it will have been ex telling her that that's really sad of her and she can do something better instead (like sit and watch TV all day).
We got some of the kitchen free on good will because the bits we were sent did not fit. The woman was VERY rude though and totally not fit for a customer facing role. I walked away before I told her to eff off. DP deals with customers - well did in the last job he had- so he knew how to ignore it and say the right things. I went to find another spice rack instead 🤣. So yeh some paid for by them and some we had to pay for ..less than £100 😖 which was still making me go eeeeeeek because of finances atm. We had our dinner there and bought a couple of bits like hinges and my spice rack (I was one short) and overall was a successful trip where we didn't pick up anything over and above what we needed - like plants and candles 🤣🤣.

Today DD is working, I need to return my bra and then I will do some bulk cooking before next week. And try and finish a bit more of my book. Nice easy day 😁.
