You’re bang on (forgive the pun! 😉) about the car - it will be a filter starting to fur up as short runs won’t build up enough heat to burn off the gunk. I think over time it starts to choke the engine of oxygen which is pretty critical for a combustion process! 😉 (And I learned this from my hairdresser as he was telling me why he’d reluctantly made the decision to go electric with his next car … 😊)
Tbf to DD, I wouldn’t know how to use a bus these days! 😂
Re your foot, I’ve been rummaging about in my memory bank, as I’m sure somewhere here, you said something about hurting yourself (months ago - a sprained ankle maybe?) and you’ve had this pain ever since … ? 🤔 It might not be a fracture, it could be something soft tissue? I wonder if you need a scan …? I think I would be jumping up and down (from the other foot! 😉) on my GP …

Another siding with DD. I would have no idea about using a bus.
Was due to go to a meeting in London during tube strike recently and someone sent me bus instructions. I am not entirely sure they were written in English for a city I actually know. I declined to go to meeting and joined on line saying I did not do buses
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Haha I wasn't sure if I'd remembered DP speech about the car right 😆 I sort of understood but things like that my brain goes, it's okay we don't need this info it's okay to day dream now 😆.KajiKita said:You’re bang on (forgive the pun! 😉) about the car - it will be a filter starting to fur up as short runs won’t build up enough heat to burn off the gunk. I'm going straight to X ray tomorrow for my foot KK the doc has sent over a form to them and I'm going to go over and get it looked at. I've rifled through my filing cabinet in my brain trying to remember where I initially hurt it and it was in the last job before I moved home. I came down really heavy on my foot as I missed a step when walking rather fast and didn't see three steps only two, so the last one was a big thud onto the heel of that foot- onto hard concrete. And therein started the pain, so it's definitely an injury. It comes and goes in how painful it is any any given time, but I've noticed I have a very high threshold for pain and even when it's excruciating I will walk on it rather than go see a Dr (I have also realised a Dr who misdiagnosed me and my DD years ago is the cause for me being Dr avoidant). But the pain is spreading to the knee, the hip everything is getting out of balance so I know I need it sorting. I think it's probably why I've put weight on as I don't walk as much as I used to either. If it's not broken/ chipped I will get to the chiropractor. I've tried all sorts of exercises for it which only mildly relieved the pain and never sort it properly.Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Coming from London and my mum not driving when I was little we always used to take the bus as it was cheaper than the train. So I would happily hop on and off lots of different ones, the train however - if I ended up going UP London we'd always need the tube and for the life of me I cannot work out the maps. It confuses the heck out of me and I avoid the tube at all costs 😆 (cost is usually my sanity).Watty1 said:Another siding with DD. I would have no idea about using a bus.

The bus journey here to home is literally 8 minutes but if we walk it it is 40 minutes because it is ALL up hill, and it's a very very steep long hill and after being on her feet all day I thought she'd appreciate a bus to drop her almost near our door (one road away).Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Morning all, DD is off to work again today, she's driving herself in (with DP chaperoning).
My friend is due over later which is a last minute thing but fine with me as I get to sit and rest and it is kind of enforced 😆.
Remember that day when DD was crying at work? Well I was up paying for our bill so we could leave and the guy who works there said, oh no what's wrong with DD is she okay (she's the baby in there) and I told him what had happened and said, it's a good job I don't know which woman it is who shouted at her because I'd like a bloody word with her right now...!! Well, apparently, it turns out it was the woman stood meekly next to him 😆😆😆 he didn't dare tell me who it was in case I 'kicked off ' and to be fair, when my kids are involved, I may well have done 😁. She's had no problems with her since anyway, probably in part to my ranting about wanting to find out who it was to this guy. Haha.
The winter duvet is coming out today 🥶.we were SO cold last night.
Got that ratatouille to make as we weren't hungry after our chips yesterday.
I'm reading a new book on 'cleanse to heal' focused around chronic illnesses. It's cheap on k1ndle at the mo if anyone is interested. It's very interesting so far and I'm only there chapters in. I will try and follow the cleanse suggestions at the end of the book too I think. I need something to kick start my weight loss as hrt has me piling it on even with all my exercising 😩.Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Afternoon, had a lovely catch up with my friend and DP stayed in the room chatting so it wasn't as depressing a talk as sometimes it can turn to...(Her hubby is on end of life care so understandable). We were chatting about our jobs and turned out conversation to a business idea we had around two decades ago 🤨😆 gosh, yep, it really was that long ago, at least!! Anyway, we kind of floated the idea again and both of us were quite keen....so we will have a think on that one. Could be good as all kids are older now, when we first floated the idea we had toddlers and it was all too much.
NSD - yay!
Going to prep dinner soon... And collect DD.
DP hoovered and mopped and with underfloor heating it was dry in two minutes 😱! Amazing! We also found DP long lost ear buds, we thought he lost them on a train but they turned up in the washing machine!! I managed to switch it off and retrieve them but they'd been in there twenty minutes. They seem to work though. Saves us money in replacing them! I think they were in his dressing gown and we'd packed it away for summer...I've just washed them all and I think they must have been in his pocket. He's happy anyway as he loved them over the cheap replacement pair we bought!Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. Ooh very interesting hearing you talk about business plans. I think there must be something in the air✨✨. Or maybe the planets are finally sorting themselves out and allowing us to finally settle and have some clarity!!4

Thanks @Bananabreadyum & @Watty1 😃 I don't think anything will happen soon as her husband needs caring for quite a bit at the mo. But it is nice to feel there are options out there.
This morning I didn't get up early enough to be at the x-ray place for first doors however it had free parking, I had a book and cup of tea in a travel mug and was ready to settle in! There were only three people in front of me and I ended up being seen before my tea was even finished! So much better than going to the hospital. I just need the all clear there is no fracture now and I will research how to help my foot with some alternative therapies...I'm thinking either acupuncture or chiropractor but will see if there is anything else available.
So I'm back home, fed, and ready to go out. I think we'll take DD out so she can have practice driving and pop to somewhere new for her (to drive to anyway but familiar roads so she knows where she is) ...I'm thinking the antique centre as I'm after some specific bits that I've been unable to find cheaply on fleabay and CS.
Dinner tonight I'll do mock pulled pork burgers with the seitan I have in the fridge. And maybe some chips. Then I need to go food shopping tomorrow, it can't be put off any longer as we are out of lots of bits.
I need to redo my budget as we're out of money for October. I think I may need to allocate some of November's budget to this week, as all three of us are off. It seems silly to stay in and do nothing because the money in my account is supposed to be for November.Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46.
