Chilly and frosty here too. But the sun is out a recking it could be warm enough for a little light gardening this afternoon!
I hope the Dr app today is helpful.
Enjoy meeting you friend, I love days off!!!
It was quite warm here too eventually! I didn't get into the garden though. Popped to the shops and by the time I was back I needed to visit friend, then back for lunch and had a half hour sit down before Dr appointment.

Literally sat down in the Drs, opened my book and was called in.

Dr didn't put me on hrt. He said all my bloods were really good aside from hormones (which I guessed) and they suggested I'm post menopause which I also kinda knew. And he didn't want to put me on hrt as it can cause cancer. So he's put me on clonidine instead (I might have misspelled that). Side effects include all the things I'm trying to get rid of 🤔. So one month trial of this, he said the dosage might need to be tweaked and I might find it does nothing in which case we will look at hrt. But he said I've already gone through it so it was better not to have the hormones 🤔 I'm not a Dr so I don't know and I'm at the point I'm willing to try anything right now to stop hot/ cold flushes and get a good night's sleep.

£9.90 on prescription so not a NSD technically but I did use food card so has come out of that budget and medication/ supplements I don't usually count in my NSD as I need them like food...so I think I'll have the NSD 🤔🤣. Also popped to Mr W earlier and got some GF bits I needed. But again food budget paid for that.

Work tomorrow and I really need an early night as got myself to the point of exhaustion again... might read my book for a bit then cook and go up early...feel like I'm just in survival mode right now. Working, eating, sleeping. And repeat... really would love some energy back.

Certainly know that feeling of just going through the motions of life and work.  No energy to do fun things by the time you get home.  I need to rebook for my bloods to be done to check how things are too.

I got my hearing aids about a year ago I think and they are the best things ever.  Just the normal NHS free ones but I never realised how much I was missing.  I wish had sorted them earlier and would encourage anyone who is found with their tv at high volumes or forever saying 'pardon' to get tested.

I'm forever saying, sorry? Pardon? What was that again? I'm so used to it as I've been like it my whole life tbh but it has got worse the last few years. So time to be checked again 🙈😆

    Good luck with your bloods.
I started the tablets last night and was zonked about an hour after having them went to bed thinking yay they feel like sedatives I might get a good night's sleep. Nah, no such luck, hot flushes woke me several times and I was up at 6. I have to take another dose in a mo and am a bit worried about being tired all day - tired on top of my tired won't be good. I need to look after a student with medical needs today. Will have to let members of staff around me know if I'm looking drugged it's because umm I am 😬🫣.
Apparently this wears off after a week. So I'll keep pushing with it and taking it.

    Hopefully a NSD 🙏🏻🤞🏻 I don't need anything....

I spoke to my dr yesterday too regarding night sweats and she recommended try evening primrose oil or black corsch ( not sure I’ve spelt that right) before I try fluoxetine or last resort hrt. Have you read the davinia  mcall book on the menopause? Might be worth a read. Offer advice on what you can do to help yourself. Good luck

Delurking to say of its clonidine i dont know what other uses it has but when dd was in icu on a ventilator they used clonidine as the main sedative?  Also she becsme quite.addicted to it and had to be weaned off super slow as when they just stopped it she had awful withdrawal symptoms like some sort of junkie 😔

I tried both of these already. I had quite a good success with the black cohosh but it stopped working (same as maca root and also ashwaghanda) I did try taking breaks and going back to it but never worked again. And I don't know if it is because it worked when I was peri menopause rather than post menopause it stopped...? So yes I'd try both and see if they help. Basically over the last ten years I've spent all my money on all of the natural stuff and have given up now 🙈 which doesn't sound like me at all as I'm all for natural. But I'm also exhausted now to the point of not being able to do anything other than work eat and sleep so I feel I've tried my best and want something to stop all the symptoms now 🙈. Oh also sage tea and supplements worked for a little while too if you want to try those! But they make my hot flushes worse now if you can believe that. I gave it all to my friend 🤣. Hope they work for her... otherwise she'll hate me for making them worse lol.

I will look this up. A while back a friend said to eat lots of tofu as it's soya. I already eat soya and drink soya milk so am getting some but I'll look this up too. Thank you!

I read it was addictive and I'm not too happy about this. It seems to be also an anxiety/ ADHD medication....but does mention hot flushes. He said the tiredness from it does wear off after a week or so. I'm supposed to be on it for a month before review. I'm taking four tablets a day.
And the effects of the tablet are supposed to start working on my symptoms within two weeks... we'll see...I have gotten so used to them now I feel like they're a part of me🙈🤣
