Half my working week is done!
Yay!
I have just spent 10 minutes trying to reset new passwords to my ISA AGAIN......🤔🤦♀️ I literally reset it in Jan and wrote the password down. I used it and WRONG PASSWORD came up...tried it again and again and then it warned me one more time and the account is lockedI gave up and went through the whole rigmarole of resetting it. How does that even happen when you have written it down (in fact I copy pasted it to my notes
) I have made a note of how much is in there and the maturity date. Am assuming more interest will be added on maturity though so hoping that figure is slightly more by end of Apr.
Sausage and mash for dinner and then another early night for me, am so drained lately. Will make sure I have a book downloaded on my phone for tomorrow so that when DD is having the brace fitted I might be able to disappear and read for a bit rather than look at teeth for hours on end. Which considering my last few weeks, you'd be forgiven for thinking is in fact one of my favourite past times.
I don't understand what has happened to my brain for the last month or so- perhaps this flu virus I had, or meno? But I cannot even string together a sentence when talking to people and when typing I am typing words but they are making no sense and I have to keep going back and checking. It's like my brain is 3 seconds behind my mouth/ hands as they speak/write. It's confusing and frustrating and annoying me more and more. Today it took me a minute to think of the word table.
I am doing well this month on my ama.z.on orders. Last month I was super annoyed with myself, I had 14 separate transactions although this does include toothpaste, and a pre biotic subscription which I was okay with. I haven't included the book purchases on there (kindle). This month I have ordered - so far- 1 thing. Bromelain for DD's tooth extractions / and because my first aid drawer had none left. I am probably going to order a cheap electric toothbrush on there for her too and a flosser thing but I don't want to cave and order anything else! I spend too much on there. I have my subscriptions due in a couple of weeks which are also okay as they are cheaper than the shops but nothing else!! I had another NSD today too which was good, tomorrow probably won't be one but we'll see. I will download a book that is free on the subscription I currently have on kindle so I don't need to pay for it. I was considering cancelling prime on renewal, I share it with my DS1 though and he admitted he had cancelled sky and all the other tv packages (after I had told him to tbf as he was paying down debt) and he only uses prime. So I feel obliged to keep it really and we do go halves which is okay. When he moves in here eventually perhaps we will look at getting rid of it then 🤔 it is too easy to overspend I find with that at my finger tips. Restraint........I hear you say......... yes sometimes I have tonnes, sometimes none
1/3 of the way through March or thereabouts and accounts are all looking okay still. The food budget doesn't look so awful now we've done the second shop and DP got it pretty cheap around £340 left for 2 more shops and top ups in between. I am still okay on my PM no idea about DP - the loan............hmmmm........this still rumbles on. They should have taken a payment on the 10th, but because we paid an OP it has done something odd to the usual DD (which should have been the last one!) I will get DP to call them and see if he can make a payment over the phone and get it closed off. That would cheer my week up to see that goneand I am sure everyone including DP would like me to shut up about it now
Bills are all going out okay. and the yearly account pots are being topped up nicely. I haven't paid anything into ski/ driving/ EF this month because of getting rid of all the credit cards/ loans etc so will be sure to put any extra over to it nearer the end of the month. NSD6/20 so far. 14 more might be pushing it this month but I'll be happy with getting near to it

Also I've managed to half our gas/ lec bill since I was complaining about it to you all last 😆 and the heating is still on!
Top pic is last week and bottom pic is Jan. £6.82 on an average day before and now it is £3.17. still very expensive in my mind and I think greedy companies should lower prices. Thanks beanie and Penny 😄
I'm at the orthodontist. Sat watching DD in the chair. I'm Hoping it's not two hours but it did say it would be. It's nice and warm in here though perhaps they won't mind if I close my eyes for a bit 😆. It's given me time to catch up on banking and some work emails and I've done a mini course I had to complete for work so far whilst sat here. So not a total waste of time.
I've been to Mr W already and collected some soup for DD, some face cream for me and some other small bits DP forgot to buy. I'll just pay for it with my pocket money as most of it was my cream tbh.
Hoping to be home early enough to pop to the conservatory showroom again we've had a revised quote back and they've shaved £2.5k back. We spoke to the architect who came out and he recommended the conservatory business and said they probably will offer a better price because they buy in bulk. At least he was honest... everyone seems to know everyone around here. 🤔😆. So quote as it stands is around £48k. I have not quite half already in cash (possibly could make it up to half tbf). And we are looking at this point at consolidation of the car loan with it so one monthly payment and a cheaper interest rate for the car (currently at 11.9%). They offer a 6 month holiday break before Starting payments so I am considering taking that and paying the admin fee at the end to get out of it (around £30 I will double check small print though) then paying it off with a loan taken from elsewhere at a better rate (hoping for 6-8%) I can have more cash saved by then if we don't OP the mortgage.
2027 we have the mortgage up for renewal and we'll probably absorb the loan into that at that point. Then all major building works are done and dusted and we can do the rest as and when.
Sorry I keep writing about it but I find it better to write it down as my brain is mush these days. And the plan is coming together better and easier each time we think about it more and go through all the options.
Gawd DD just been told soft food diet for possibly 6-9months! Wth! 😥.she will not be too happy with that.....
Right off for now as they keep asking her questions and her mouth is wide open 🤔🙈...MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Spent another £21 on food as DD has to have certain foods for the expander things she has. She's not happy about any of it even though she was super happy before she went in. So I gave in took her to the shop and bought her some skips, quavers and other things that are soft to eat.
DP and I went to showroom. We've signed on the dotted line. We're getting the extension. I've done the figures and it's all good and if I want to I still have a few hundred quid a month for OPs ....I am absolutely exhausted with life at the moment and cannot be bothered with any more thinking on stuff and money and problems, there's bigger things to focus on. It was always in the pipe line and honestly I want it done ASAP so I can get my life back from Diy and build works. So there we go. I confess. Totally un-MSE spending that much 😁😉 but I don't care. I actually can't wait for it. I'm hoping by then my energy issue is sorted out too so I can jump up and down and be excited, perhaps I'll just do it metaphorically speaking....
We have signed for the delayed six months payment meaning we push the build through quickly as it's done today and we get the cheaper price before their prices go up in April and we can take our time and go to the bank now and see about a better rate than the one we've signed for. Do you want to know something funny........the credit agreement is with the one we paid off yesterday for the C loan 🤐🙈🤣🤣🤣. We literally said we can't wait to see the back of it(you) and then sign up again a day later for another. 😁 The build should be done by summer we think. They gave us three bottles of wine as a thank you for choosing them which was very sweet, I have a sulphate allergy though so can't drink it, but DP likes a glass every now and then 😊.
I have had a full day and it did not feel like a day off. I sometimes think I should just work full time and at least get paid for the busy days I seem to always have. 🤷🏻♀️ Definitely no self-care going on on my days off recently.
I'm having a purposeful ten minute sit down and time out before making DD Mac and cheese and the rest of us mushroom risotto.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. It's frightening how easy it is to spend that kind of money but it does sound like a good investment for you, especially if it makes that house work for you for the next few years. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
