    - a vote for your garden room!

I’d just keep journalling and doing your meditation every day. Give yourself say a month just to see what keeps coming up. What ideas you like and keep building your vision  board as you go in your new career because it should be a career that you love
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

That looks fabulous! Does the stove work? (Also, I have the same lamp, so you clearly have good taste ;))

I can see why you don't love the fireplace, the arch is odd. You really need to lower the top of the opening (which would mean lowering the metal plate inside the chimney so the heat doesn't all vanish up there) and straighten it. It might be worth asking your chimney sweep whether they can help.

I'm so glad someone else can see this! DP thinks I'm overreacting and that it's fine. It's all out of proportion 🙈🤣. He's said he knows how to lower it but it's a pain in the a** apparently to do so he cracked on anyway. Which annoyed me at the time but I am glad it looks better... Love my lamps I've got far too many 🤣🙈🤷🏻‍♀️ 😁

I'm going to do this going forward. I have one week to do this now to set good habits in order before I go back to work. Already meditated today and will find my board it got lost in the decorating mess ...

I think it looks lovely.  You have both done such a lovely job.  Do you use the log burner ? (think that is what it is).  What is is about the fireplace that you don't like?

It looks lovely although I smiled at the colour coded books.  Mine are by subject or author but yours look much prettier.

Tell him from me you're right :p  and that it really does need to be fixed. I'm pretty sure it can be done with heatproof plasterboard rather than needing to put in a new lintel and add bricks above (the proper way to do it!), as long as you can lower the register plate (or maybe just put a new one in at the lower level. Then you'll be able to fit a nice big mirror above it without it looking weird.

And there is no such thing as too many lamps. When we were redoing the sitting room (which is huge and only had one light in the middle - unlike the tiny shower room which has 6 LED downlighters) we got the electricians put in 5 amp sockets round the room so I can turn all the table lamps on from the switch on the wall. I've just got some smart plugs with a remote control for my mum so she can do the same without the dust...

You are both more organised than me. Mine are by size (shelves are on tonks strip) so I can fit as many of them in as possible. Mind you, they are also all moving from room to room at the moment as the electricians/plumbers/plasterer/decorator do their stuff.

Yes, you’re right about that fireplace! Poor DP - completely outnumbered, thanks to us! 😂 I think it’s the combination of the curved top and the straight edges of the tiles behind and the wood stove itself that are making me twitch …

    I always like a mantelpiece over a fireplace … 🤔
