  • I am reading my vegan magazine (bought six issues for like £6) this month is a budget one 😍
Expert tips for getting money savvy-
Maintain things- repair rather than replace.
Use things up- i.e toiletries, stationery etc
Reduce processed foods - make your own pizza for example.
Think quality - buy better rather than buying twice.
    Shop your kitchen before shopping
Make saving fun with small games and charts, small goals etc
    Borrow it - i.e books/ toy library

I do all that.... What I need to do more of....

Practice gratitude 😍 🙏🏻 I do this sporadically since working. Need to go back to it.
Eat seasonally - make meal plans around the seasons fruit and veg. This is something I don't currently do.....🤔 I will try this.

Will research some meals I can make from things that are in season right now when I'm home. Cabbage? Onions? What else? 🤔🤣

Okay opticians appointment anyway...then I'll be back to ponder some more!

    Loving the garden vision !
It’s going to be a lot of work though

those tips are good reminders .. I need to shop my kitchen more this week :) things are falling out the freezer etc - at least I am buying more frozen veg though now as it keeps me healthy when I am busy and does not go off
No clue why I occasionally stock up my kitchen Apocalypse style when the nearest shop to me is 3 mins walk and I have giant supermarkets 10 mins away walk ..

I do need to make more gf bread though in my bread maker - less packaging too !
but been so busy I just buy it when reduced but my HM one much nicer and cheaper !
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I've started buying more frozen veg too. The only things I won't buy frozen are broccoli and carrots they taste weird when cooked after being frozen.
I also over shop too much and then sometimes I will eat the cupboards down so much I am like old mother Hubbard. I think I need to find a balance there 🤣

  • What a spendy day. And so long too!! We waited for the opticians, then the barbers, then the dentist! After the opticians ds needed new glasses, and he's a nightmare to get out of the house and do things like with so I decided to just do it there and then...£85 later 😵‍💫... Then the food shop for stuff I couldn't get in Mr L....sadly with a child with me the £40 budget was blown. Somehow donuts, juices, and other bits ended up in my trolley so that was around £60.
Then we decided to do the barbers as it is two minutes from the opticians and we had fifty minutes to kill before the dentist...£12. I decided to feed us as I was feeling faint by this point so grabbed some subway meal deals £17 ish?! Then onto the dentist where we have an NHS dentist still. It seems no one else does so they were all coming in after us and being seen....ten people I counted in after us all seen before us 😡 considering NHS is not really free and it's paid for in taxes this annoyed me a lot. No apologies either. But if we are two minutes late to that place they won't see us and will send us away. Grr. Anyway as I was in there DD calls me and says can you collect me from the train station. So I left there and went straight to get her and didn't get home until just now! I was expecting to be out an hour tops 🤣🙈

I was going to make a cheesecake but not sure I can be bothered now 🤣 time for tea and DD has put Harry Potter on so I might have an afternoon off now.....and breathe....

Love the garden vision.   Great budget tips, I've been doing "mostly" that.    Have bought frozen broccoli to use in soup - I'm hoping that will work ok!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
