  • Afternoon all! I made it through the week, and not feeling so ill this afternoon.
VERY glad I took yesterday off for R&R it was much needed I think and gave me the energy to get through today.
LWAP I realised now, on the YNAB I had to transfer on the accounts section to the CC account to pay it off! So we figured it out finally- thank goodness as I was nearly about to do another restart on the budget.
ThankS @~FlowerPot~ DP seems to be fine this afternoon if only a bit tired, but that is usual for him on a Friday afternoon especially when he's been away in the week. I want a nice quiet weekend too but I do need to do the food shop. AND whilst I am mentioning food shops, can someone remind me on xmas week I have a s'bugs slot so if I start talking about going shopping stop me and remind me  I will have a very expensive £130 worth of shopping arriving otherwise consisting of a toothbrush and a couple of other bits i 'threw in' so I could check out and save it :joy:

I didn't realise soya sauce was not GF so I have added that to my list for my shopping tomorrow (thankfully I was following a recipe and it mentioned GF sauce if needed!)
Pizza and chips this evening, I think we have all collectively earned it.
I did training again this morning, I am glad when I finished at lunch I was given something else to break it up with this afternoon and when I got back to the office at 3pm they let me leave early instead of making me do another hour of it, I always struggle with this training no matter how many times I do it (safeguarding lv2) I find myself recalling back to my childhood and getting lost in my own head.
I have only another hour or so of that one left then can be done with it until the next time it runs out.
Dare I say it but the people at work are all (so far- haven't met all of them yet) very nice. The job seems okay (haven't got to grips with the reporting bit yet need to be shown properly how to do this), the hours are good too, and we will see in time about the wages

This weekend's plans- shopping (meh), possibly popping to a friends house as she has offered me all her fruit trees!! She has them all in pots, I'm not sure how to transfer them in our car though. We used to have an SUV which was excellent for transporting all sorts of things, now we have a saloon which DP is loathe to use for anything because it's ours and not the companies  I am thinking seats down, trees in bags (heavy rubble sacks), tied off at the top so no loose soil, trees on side and put in that way? Anyone have any other ideas? I need to see if she is busy first anyway...I think that is the only way they would fit when we do do it though? 🤔.

Then I would love to spend a couple of hours in the garden. I think I would like to attempt to have one final hurrah at emptying just ONE shed/ summerhouse of wood before it's too cold!! Then I can begin to use that empty space for what it was intended- summerhouse was originally their potting shed/ place to sit, the two sheds could be used for the gardening tools and all the empty pots that are currently strewn across the garden...the old owner was a wood hoarder, I confess I am a bit of a plant pot hoarder :joy: .
The tools are not high value so I am not bothered about keeping them in the shed rather than the garage, and they are nearer to where I am working so I would love to do this job before I decide it's too cold for me for the year.

I would also like to make DP his birthday meal, the sticky cauliflower with rice, and do his cake (shop bought free from range), and I want to finish some painting off and start my embroidery (KK I will try and find the pic online in a mo it's a starter set as I haven't actually done any since school)! Some bits for me in there....

I have been very very good this week (gold star please) with my GF and checked EVERYTHING I have put in my mouth. Much better than my last feeble attempt.
I am aside from this cold feeling better already, in the fact that I have had not one single tummy ache, no sluggishness, the tiredness I am feeling is from the cold and it feels different to the usual sluggish feeling I have after eating gluten. I have had headaches but have had this cold so I am hoping now this is passing they will go too. I am paying attention to how my body is feeling and acting and energy levels and they all seem to be better. I seem to have sprung back from this cold better too - although my chest feels heavy, I have been taking mullein leaf and using salt inhaler which seems to have loosened whatever was there so that's hopefully getting better not worse.

Got over a tenner on Pr0lific pending, hopefully that will clear this weekend or at least enough for payout (I am at £2 something). I want to keep the food shop below £100 but I won't stress too much if it is over as I am buying GF staples still each week as I notice I don't have them. I think once I run down the non GF stuff I may swap a lot of it to GF if it doesn't taste much different to save on space and buying two lots of everything.

Right that's me done, nothing else to report.

  • I have just been on my HMRC as I wasn't sure if I changed my CB to new address, whilst on there I thought I would see if I could claim a tax refund and noticed I had been emergency taxed on the temp job I had last year! I don't think I had a refund come through for this so I have put a request in, I only earned £315 and was charged £63!!! I don't recall a tax rebate so hopefully they will refund me on this.
The more recent ET will hopefully be refunded by new employer or at end of tax year and I will keep an eye on that one as I only earned under £600 and was charged over £110! Ugh... Glad I noticed it though perhaps I might get some money back...

Last Xmas I added to my Tesco order as I went but forgot to take the four bottles of Baileys out that I’d put in to hold the slot ……

That reminds me of the time toscos arrived at my house with six bottles of wine … I don’t drink! I’d updated the basket but not managed to check it out properly! 😂

  • I've made similar mistakes before @dawnybabes @KajiKita that's why I don't want to forget. I think I'd rather the alcohol. I am more likely to be able to gift/ use those than an electric toothbrush

Shopping today cost £150+ WITH a £10.50 off voucher. I think I am just going to have to up this budget and suck it up (although can't really afford it now this month so am holding out hope we can pull it in not tooooo much over?!) I stuck to the list and didn't get a few bits I knew were cheaper in Mr L so I still need to spend another tenner there.

Food is SO expensive. I need this job I have more than ever with the rise in prices of everything. Feeling very grumpy about the food expenses today. To put it into perspective, when I up the budget it will be the same amount I am spending on my mortgage per month pretty much

Right off to do dinner......sticky cauli here we come...
