Glad you figured out the CC - yes when you have overspent on the cc you do have to transfer money from the cc category (as opposed to the cc account) as you paying it down from previous overspend.. DM if you get stuck again I can probably fifure it out. Also ynab do live workshops you can join and ask questions..
I would get v angry at someone who is too lazy to cook but then eats my special GF food... Plus whoever cooked should not be washing up!!
Glad you keeping to your GF food - you will feel better and better. Your cross stitch looks lovelyDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

@redofromstart I made it GF - the 'sticky' part was kinda missing
however it wasn't overly salty and it still tasted 'okay' to me. DP & DS both said they preferred it to the usual one because it wasn't so salty, it tasted healthier- it did indeed probably why I didn't prefer it
Thanks LWAP I can't believe I didn't realise it. I am glad we realised it between us though before resetting AGAIN
@beanielou You're right I think I just need to suck it up and change it. Makes me so cross though spending that much on food. But we eat organic where we can (all fruit and veg usually) and always but healthier options where possible & vegan & veggie options and now GFit is not wonder I am struggling to keep to £125 a week.

I've done a few surveys this morning with a cuppa, just waiting for them to go from pending (£15 is pending!) I finally got a survey offered yesterday from PanelOp- it has taken me months to get to a pay out level. It was a £7.50 one so took me up to £15 when I did it. I cashed it out immediately but it takes up to 5 days to hit my account. I don't think I will bother with that site any more the payout and amount of surveys I get is frustrating.
Think I will carry on with pr0l1fic and l1fe po1nts and Prime Op on my phone as they're useful to do when I am out and about bored and have my phone on me (waiting rooms etc).
I will transfer the weekly meal plan to my phone and tick them off as we eat them so I know what's left/ what needs taking out the freezer before eating.
The freezer and cupboards are rammed! This is good, I will possibly be able to do a very cheap (compared to this and last week's) shop on the last week of the month. I like to have spare food in the house and enjoy having a good stock of bulk food. I know there are arguments for and against but I think it all feels better to me knowing I have at least a week's worth of meals extra that I could make from something or other. Perhaps goes back to my days of poverty, single mum in debt, but I think an extra week isn't too much and is good if we were hit with an emergency, it would mean I have a week's worth of grocery budget spare effectively, I could call it my edible emergency fund
Need to rethink our xmas meal I was going to cook. I was going to buy the vegan wellington's on sale at Mr W........but Gluten......meh.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. I'm so full of cold still 🤧 felt it going to my chest yesterday but it does seem to have shifted slightly now and is moving out of me. I'm drinking lots of fluids and eating lots of vitamin C.
Had a productive morning and lunch time. I cleared the mess I started weeks ago on the path outside. Had to sort soil from stones and weed. Thrown the weed into green bin and emptied stones on the stone pile and soil back into the bed.
Looks neater now and we won't break our necks walking up the path any more 🙈
DP came to help too and did some ground works ready for my new beds. I have drawn up plans 👏🏼👏🏼 I am so excited. He's working on where will have raised beds in rows for my herb garden. Through the middle will be a path to the greenhouse and at the ends of the raised beds I'd like trellis/ pergola type thing to grow a climber up to make it feel like you're coming into a secret pathway 😁 it's a very long narrowish plot so wanted to add a few bits where you can only see so far and have to walk and explore the rest for some interest. I'm very excited to start this.
I've also made plans for the left of this which is a west facing wall (our garden is North facing) for more raised beds where the majority of our veg will go. The greenhouse area is in a shady ish area at the moment so we have plans to cut back the large bushes and trees enough so the greenhouse will be in a good spot. Some of it will partially be shaded but most of it won't be.
DP will price up the raised bed wood - we're thinking decking boards. And I'll try to budget it in soon.
My sister has just rung me and her puppy was seriously attacked as was my sister's partner who's not well anyway (recovering from cancer and is on blood thinners due to blood clots) he's at one hospital and my sisters on the way to another doggy hospital. I'm trying to get info on dog to see if the Same dog is responsible for her pup but I think it's a larger one. Pics aren't great there's a lot of blood 😢😢😢 fingers crossed the puppy is ok and bro in law. - the more I stew on FLD sudden sickness and the vet mentioning heart attacks I think he had a mild one the night he was attacked. He went into shock. I went into rage mode at the owner which stressed FLD out more and I think it's what led to his demise. I did report it online but I doubt anything was done about it. I hear about dog attacks in this city all the time lately.
Right off to make a fire and prep dinner and keep my phone on me in case my sister needs me later.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. So sorry to hear about sister and her pup. Am sending love. Will look out for updates.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
So sorry to hear this. It seems to be epidemic at the moment. A couple of very serious similar issues here including a poor wee soul that lost its life & the owner still recovering from injuries sustained. It beggars belief.Hope the dog is ok & your sister’s partner.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. So sorry to hear re the attack on the puppy and family member - just awful - hope they ok
it’s scary having dogs attacked by others - when I was looking after my DS ones - the top dog who was getting older got challenged by 2 others and there was me in flip flops !!
luckily my parents always had big v trained dogs which tended to put off most other dogs from attacking it - when I get myself a dog finally it will be large and trained super well / I don’t need the stress of worrying about a smaller dog
on YNAB yes they often say leave the cc and the targets off when you first start as the way the cc works is intelligent but not that intuitive !DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)

BIL has puncture wounds and a very sore hand. On antibiotics now and the poor pup has all sorts of drugs now for pain, infection etc and a cone. The poor little thing is only small and so sweet. In all my years of owning a dog I've never ever seen so many dog attacks in such a small amount of time. A police officer was called out a few months ago local to here (well next town along) and a dog was put down as no one could get control of the dog after it attacked and killed a dog and seriously hurt the owner too. Mad.
I've been naughty and been looking for greenhouses. We've seen some lovely ones and we've decided we're going to buy a new one as it's something I've always wanted. It's going to be a feature in the garden too rather than tucked into a corner so we've measured the size we want and I'm on the hunt (8x14 so a biggish one for our size garden!)
Organising with friends when I'm meeting them tomorrow as we're off out. Car sharing with some so I'm trying to be organised and let them know when I'm leaving but I am a last minute dot commer 🤣 and finding this planning malarkey difficult with so many of us.
Dinner tonight just sausage and mash and left over veg from last week and tomorrow we'll have pasta and salad and I'll make enough to portion up my lunch for Tuesday at work. Quick easy dinner before we go out though tomorrow - see I can be a bit organised 😁😬🤣
DP sold a fireguard 👏🏼 £10 (left behind by old owner)
He bought a new lawnmower £40
So we're £30 down...I've suggested he sell the battery operated lawnmower we have as our batteries aren't good enough to run it for long and it's a good brand (RY0by) so if he can get £30 we broke even on the other lawnmower... we'll see.
