And I'm forever guilty haha.
I made fajitas and chips instead of fajitas and rice and it oddly felt like a takeaway 🤣 I seasoned the chips and served it all up and it went down well and I had no cravings for takeaway after that.
I was super disappointed with my GF wraps though they literally fell apart! And they were so floury the texture was odd. I will save my money and not buy them again. I'll just serve mine on the plate without the wraps next time.

It's Fri-YAY!! Woop 🙌🏼
Off for training this morning (induction) and hopefully a really easy afternoon!
(Will report back).
Was naughty this morning and we had tickets for a local concert come through and it's one of DP faves from when he was at college a few moons ago 🤣 so I said do you want to go? YES!
We ummmmm basically have THREE concerts booked in one week next June for local stuff now. Two just us, and one with the kids! Eek that will hopefully be a fun (and probably tiring) week!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Today is finally over. I couldn't believe how long it was/ felt. Am absolutely shattered. And had the worst group today for a Friday. I think I would prefer the harder job at the beginning of the week (or even on a Thursday when I have had 1 day to rest) than on a Friday when everyone is collectively tired.
Anyway it is done.
I got dinner out the freezer this morning so just need to cook that. I think a nice easy tofu with some curry sauce (never had this before so that will be novel) and throw some veg in with it and make some rice. I have dinner for tomorrow too and I can probably scrape together food for Sunday so I am debating seeing if I can get a food slot for Sunday or Monday to save me going out. Hmmm yes that would be a good idea...will see if I can do that now. Otherwise have to add the food shop to my weekend.

Happy weekend, enjoy the rest!!
Sending a hug re FLD, you will eventually start remembering him with joy vs the current pain. I no longer cry about my cats but I do remember the terrible day of each of them going to cat heaven, in fact one did so on Nov 16th.. the joy pets give means there is bound to be a loss feltDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Feeling utterly drained, deflated and down today. Sadly. Considering it's my day off.
Thought I'd start with a clean up mission in the house before moving into the garden. Hoovered three floors, was on the last room and hurt myself. Have a very sore toe from a lamp falling on it. And lots of blood and bruising now. Can't get my boots on to get out into the garden now 😫🥺
However thankfully I'd cleaned the house, all bathrooms and halls and rooms aside from the kids rooms and that is their responsibility to do anyway.
Will try and get my sliders on so I can go do some light work outside instead of digging. Perhaps shift some wood from one place to another 🙄
Am in negotiations with a lady on messenger regarding some furniture I'm selling. Hopefully it will go. Perhaps the house won't feel so cluttered with a few bits gone. The whole place is making me feel overwhelmed right now because we bought furniture to fit the old house - which it did beautifully. But this house needs a lot of TLC (diy and money) before we have similar useable spaces and at the moment we actually have less space than the old house even though on paper this house is bigger. So my feelings are, sell the furniture and buy something new when the space is done (I.e we need to make the conservatory watertight). Nearly all our furniture is from antique shops or second hand anyway so .... Shouldn't be too much different on what price I can sell for as to what I can re buy for when I want it.
Have five trees im determined to get into the ground at some point though. DP has dug up tree roots of an old tree and bush in the area where I hope to fit at least one tree. It looks so much bigger. The space will come together Nicely with a bit more work I think.
I've spent £516.94 on food (that might change as it's not been picked yet but that's the figure right now) and I still have one more week of shopping to do before end of month. My plans are to adapt my meal plan next weekend to whatever is left in the freezer/ cupboards and try to make dinners from there instead of buying in more food. Hopefully we just need a £60-70 top up. Absolutely mental that that amount of money is considered a top up in this house 🤦🏻♀️ but that's how much it is for four of us to buy the fresh stuff each week with some lunch bits. Hoping to bring total food budget in on less than £600 this month. So we've less than £80 left really by the time DP comes back from the shops (he's out of coffee and can't wait until tomorrow's shop so he's gone to get that now.)
Right will see if I can get this garden done ..and some fresh air into me to cheer me up!
