So pleased your first day went so well, that's really positive that everyone seems friendly.
Have you got any lemons and honey and ginger, that's my go to for a looming lurgy / sore throat.
Plus the bean burger looks delish

I’ve finally caught up with your diary. It’s taken a week of determination!

Well done for the good first day in the new job. I recommend a homemade honey, lime & lemon in hot water mix for your sore throat. My Dad would recommend a “drop” of whisky in your morning coffee!

  • Thanks @~FlowerPot~ @skint_spice I am happy enough with how this week has gone even though it is early days still.
@Nintud cor blimey I can't believe you read all my ramblings  welcome
I had a nice hot lemon with a tiny bit of manuka in last night before bed and it did help actually. My throat feels like it has razors in it it's soooo sore today!
I have tried to ward off whatever I have with lots of hot drinks and a scarf around my neck all day.
I feel slightly better this evening than I did last night aside from the sore throat (tiredness not as bad today and no headache) so hopefully it is passing!

I had a nice £5 in my PP account from a survey account this afternoon so will transfer that to my SBF.
I got an email last night from the brand that sells my face cream (n3al's yard) and they offered me 10% off my next purchase if I filled out a survey, and if I left a review a £5 voucher! So I obviously did both! Need to use before end of November but that's okay, I will buy and put in the cupboard, as I am half way through my current one anyway.

I emailed our water board (not sure if I said on here?) with complaints of 1- the bill (£91 a month!!) 2- the disgusting water that I have to pay to cleanse again before drinking. Had a good proper rant :joy: and today I had an apology and they have said i'm on the wrong tariff (always check your water tariff as they are the same as energy companies and have different tariffs!) so my bill is £50 a month going forward instead of £91  saved £41 from a strongly worded email!

Bought DP a card, cake & some chocs at Mr T this afternoon for his birthday tomorrow, I know he's had his present and I also knew I'd give in and buy something for him to open on the day too

Xmas tree arrived earlier! I am more looking forward to my new bed arriving tomorrow though! What a novelty sleeping in a bed  I can't wait! DP is away tomorrow night too on his birthday- and when we have a new bed! So I hope he will get it upstairs with me before he goes.
I am in a training session tomorrow morning so in early again. I fear they think I am contracted for 28 hours though rather than 24....they have had me do two x 7 hr shifts this week so far, and I think I am scheduled for the same for another two days which is 28 not 24 hours. So I need to check it tomorrow. All is going well so far, but honestly I have been glued to a screen for half of it doing induction training. Have done two afternoons of work though and found the challenging part is my concentration, it has been a long time since I Was in a classroom and focusing for 3 hours is a long time....!
DP had his CC bill today so he will pay all that off. So onto saving for the next thing to pay off....carpet!
Right suppose I ought to go and do dinner really as it's getting on a bit. Then I will walk to the local shop as I have a parcel waiting there for me which I keep forgetting about (a vinyl for DS1 for xmas).

  • Cold and flu tablets taken this morning 😷 😰 feeling not so great. Sore throat and headache. Will go in as I have training (outside company coming in and if I don't do it now the next time for training is next year sometime) but if I start feeling worse will be asking to come home 🙈 a few days into my new job. Ugh. This is so typical! Was hoping it was passing. This explains the hangover type feeling I had at the weekend with no getting drunk. Was a cold looming.

It's DP birthday today too and bless him HE got up and made lunches and teas rather than me.

Our bed is coming today too 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 very excited about this!

Right another cuppa, then off to work.

Sorry about the cold but great news about the job and that bean burger looks delicious.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Hope you're feeling better and that the new job is going well. I was reading your symptoms and I hate to say it but I had the exact same thing a month or so ago (wok in night feeling hungover and then bad throat, bad head etc...), long story short I tested positive for covid and was poorly for a week and still not quite right now. Hopefully it's not Covid, but thought I'd mention...
