In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Aw thanks for all the first day well wishes 💗 I'm home! I actually came home at lunch. I am so ditzy I picked up the wrong lunch today! I picked up DS's one instead of mine so although vegan not GF 😂 dammit. So got DP to collect me and I made some more at home before he dropped me back! It's a half hour walk at a very slow and steady pace which is great (I walked in) and about 5 minutes in the car.
The job feels so easy compared to the physically demanding jobs I've been used to of late. I'm much happier using my brain than my poor legs that totally had enough of the last few jobs I've had.
I am tired though there was a lot of induction stuff on computers and I'm not great with admin tasks I am easily distracted and unmotivated by looking at screens over a long period especially for boring induction stuff. Thankfully they took me off and I did some work with students in the afternoon which was much more my thing. I think the same thing will be happening all week. Admin stuff/ courses in morning and proper work in the afternoon of shadowing people already on the job. They've timetabled me for a Weds off which is fab...two days on, one off and two on again. Although this week I need to do a course on Weds so will have another day off instead. The people in the office all seem lovely and I'm glad I went in with really low expectations of everything and everyone 😂 because I've been pleasantly surprised.
However I've had a sore throat all day it's really tickling and hurting. I've felt a bit off all weekend. I'm hoping it's not a virus and it's just a passing cold... thankfully dinner is prepped. Bean burgers on lettuce for me. Kids and DP have buns (I prefer it on the lettuce makes it crunchy and doesn't make the burger feel at all dry). Wedges are parboiling and corn is on. I intend on having an early night and hoping the cold gets lost by tomorrow. I don't want to be off sick in my first week.
It's DP birthday this week so tomorrow at lunch I'm hoping to pop into town to grab him a card, his birthday present was our night out last Friday but I will make him a nice dinner when home on Weds. So NSD today but probably not tomorrow. Right best go finish dinner....MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Glad your first day went so well 😊
Yes, the induction stuff is apt but at least they are breaking yet up into chunks 😊

Thanks KK that's exactly what I had planned! Hot choc (if GF) or a Herbal tea and a book. I'm working my way through a super food book I bought in the CS at the weekend, I didn't realise it was full of recipes at the back! And all are vegan! AND many are GF! I literally picked it up for the first few chapters on foods and what they're good for - protein/ carb/ fibre etc and didn't look any further so that's a bonus.
Had my first OP for the mortgage come out today 😄 that's going to be regular now. £60 and I don't think I'll be able to add to that this month but at least I've made a small one ☺️.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000.
