I am amazed by peoples energy levels when you don't have an extra person to carry. It looks like you have done loads, well done 🤩🤩🤩.0

Amazing work on the garden. Glad you and dog have recovered from a horrible experience.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
I have finally caught up! Wowsers, you’ve had a lot going on! 😊
Congratulations on the new home 🏡❤️
I really admire both your energy levels and persistence and that garden looks like it’s going to be really pretty in time. Those mature trees etc are a really good start 😊

Brilliant progress. I can see that filled with cyclamen and snow drops and hellebores in the spring. It'll be interesting to see what, if anything, grows. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Thanks @HotDog2020 I am feeling it today though! Thanks @Watty1 FLD seems fully recovered I'm now on high alert for every barking dog thinking it's rabid and after me or my baby 😐🙈.
Thank you KK. The garden I suspect was absolutely beautiful in its time. Lots of established trees, bushes, flowers and fruit that I've found so far. I want to keep what is there and have just been pruning and pulling out the bits that didn't survive. It's hard work though. The garden is probably five times more the size of this patch (this is the worst bit/ also the most fun bit with lots of secret nooks).
Thank you Redo, I will have a search for those plants I need shady ones for this particular spot. I'm not wanting to do any digging yet just tidying up so I can see what is already there as I think a lot of time and money were spent on the garden in the past. I think it's been neglected for over a decade or so. Only the basics done on it- cutting shrubs back and bushes and grass. So it's not the worst state I've ever seen but needs a lot of man hours and energy 🥵😁🙏MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Man hours and energy are free (well mostly, unless you get someone in to help with really big / technical jobs). I like to look at the garden as being my green gym 😊
I would be like you and not disturb things too much for the first year so you can see what you’ve got. Might be tempting to plant up a few pots with bulbs for the spring abs put them where you will be able to see them from the house?Japanese anemones might work here?Glad FLD is recovered. Hugs to you though - I suspect that might take a bit longer ….KKAs at 15.08.25:

I love Japanese anemones I had some in my last house. I will have a look for some. I want to turn one area of the lawn into a flower bed that we can see from the house so will get a variation of flowers and shrubs for there 😁 just need the money for the bulbs now. They're so expensive these days! In fact might see if I can find somewhere that does some plant swaps 🌱☘️🌿MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Well I believe I'm probably supposed to be in work this morning. I'm sat at home instead. I've tried to call the store and it doesn't actually go through to anyone. I left a note on the computer keyboard. So someone must have moved it to use the computer 🤦♀️🤷♀️. I've no idea when my next shift is. I would usually be feeling quite guilty and like I should go in but I strangely don't.
I have received my discount card on email so I might pop in today for some Christmas presents and see a manager if I can find one (could not find one before I left on Friday hence me leaving a note to please call me with my shifts). I won't be working today now as I've not heard anything. But I might go in and see if I can find what I'm supposed to be doing for the rest of the week. Some of you would be surprised at which store this is. It always looks like it's run well on the outside to customers (well it did to me) and yet internally no one knows what they're doing.
Hoping to hear back from the application I filled out on Friday next week and it be good news. I'd like something to look forward to ....
As we don't need to pay child maintenance any more and DP gets a new wage from the end of October I'm really not fussed if this current job doesn't pan out. What we will save on paying CM and his new wage increase is more than my wage.... But I will go use the discount first and get Xmas presents out of the way 🤣🙈MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06.
