Agree with everyone on the quitting. i know you put it on a recent job application but we can help you explain away the quitting in a positive way.
Quit, take it off your CV, your mental health and recovery is worth so much more than a badly run store.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -

and said I won't be back in please deliver to SM. They didn't seem to care nor say anything much, that's a shame as I thanked them both in person for their help today and in the letter I made sure to say they were helpful. It is done though and I feel relieved. Those people are not my tribe. The letter is long and it probably won't even get read before being bandied about and laughed about but I don't care I needed to say what I said. I realised his last comment to me yesterday was what put the final nail in. Once he had organised with HO training for myself and 2 others, he got off the phone and said, well now, if after the training you are all still c*ap then that will be on you lot won't it, and then laughed at me. Unprofessional, totally inappropriate and bordering on being a bully in my head, he was basically calling all of us new people useless and looking for a way of demoting or getting rid of us. He's one less to worry about now, probably much to his relief as I have been the one most vocal about asking for training for all of us new starters.
Anyway line is drawn now.

DP and I had a lovely tea/coffee out and slice of cake in celebration. I'm back home. I have put a wash on, I will do this mornings washing up and then have a tidy around. I have some bits in the garage still that are waiting to be moved upstairs to the loft area we found in the eaves. The rain the last couple of days has shown that the garage floor has potential to flood so I need to move this stuff before the bad weather really sets in. I might do a box a day (they're all large boxes of christmas/ memory/ keepsake stuff) and then it won't take too long. Men have actually turned up outside our house clearing the drains this morning and last night so that is good. Better than the last house/ council.
DP has been paid - woop woop! This has felt like 4 Januarys to usOn the 27th it will be one whole month that we have been in this house! Between us we have been given 3 new jobs, we've bought a new car, unpacked everything, hung all the pictures up, made this house a home and made a start on the garden and most pressing jobs in the house, kids started new schools....it has been a loooooooooooooong month. No wonder my bags under my eyes are carrying more bags
I am sure there is still a few places that I need to change my address on too so need to look at that although I do have redirection for 3 months.
I want to thank you all for commenting and taking time out of your day to help me. When the consensus is a full on QUIT it really did make my mind up for me, so I definitely need to thank you all. I can be really indecisive when I am stressed and upset, like I was in my last job before moving.
Jobs to do when my heart and head gain a slower rate again:- Do that vision board
- Make some plans for self employment. DP and I discussed using my ISA when it matures once again to go back into property. It is how I initially made that money from property...there are still small places around here for sale that we may be able to purchase with a small mortgage. There is currently £21+K. There are currently studio apartments for sale in the city set up for a student for £35k. That's a loan not a mortgage....and there are houses (2 up 2 down) for £90k. Perhaps that could bring in a small income as well as provide for my retirement which is lacking currently.
- Make plans for my spiritual based business.
- Realise I am not cut out for certain jobs and look elsewhere - perhaps look at something to do with my degree albeit I don't want to go into that particular field I studied I could find something close to it.
- New budget. We should be over £500 better off than we have been even with the car finance/ insurance taken away from the equation so we are OK and I have to keep telling myself this.
- Make a meal plan.
- Meditate. And meditate some more. I need to find ME again.
Gratitude for today:- I feel relatively okay considering I got less than 3 hours sleep, I am grateful for that.
- I feel relieved I have quit my job and won't be going back, I am grateful we are not reliant on the money.
- I am thankful every day we moved back to the city, we love where we live, we love the house and the area and the amenities.
- I am grateful for FLD, he has sensed my upset and stress and has been particularly cuddly with me the last few days when I have shed silent tears.
- I am grateful for my children, they seem through the worst of puberty these days and are turning into nice young adults.
- I am grateful for our new car, it seems to run well and is pretty
- I am thankful we have been paid today with more money to trickle in over the next few weeks (hopefully!)

Good for you, you did what you needed to do. It is a shame there are people like that out there that think they are a cut above everyone else, when clearly they are not. You deserve so much better. It even sounds like you have some good ideas flowing about how to graft some more cash, way to go you. Are there any M&S's foodhalls near you, as they are usually filled with friendly people, you wouldn't get treated as badly one would hope, just an idea. (and you would get a discount). Perhaps dedicate your time to the project that is the house, do you have some things you want to do...or do you just need hard cash in order to do them? May you walk into your dreams. HotdogX2

Sounds as though you have made the right choice and you already sound a million times more positive. Nothing worse than being in a job that makes you feel stressed and totally carp about yourself.
Take care xx2 -

Thanks all, I've had a good day today so far. Still need to walk FLD, every hour or so he comes to remind me silently staring until he realises I am busy and wanders off again for another hour
I have cleared the mess from the kids rooms (dirty washing, cups, rubbish etc) and hung all DD clothes up. Rooms look semi tidy now, I have hoovered everywhere and also done two washes. I found homes for bits that weren't quite in the right place yet. I have made a batch of scones, found dinner for tomorrow and have it defrosting, I also found dinner for tonight. I have re-read my letter three times - twice after the store manager rang me (I had phone downstairs so missed the calls) and then a third time when I sat down just now with my scone. It was a little scathing, but honestly I said nothing that wasn't true nor warranted - he needed to hear it all.
Ha ha as predicted FLD has just wandered back in...this time I am free to walk him so will do so.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06.
