Can you suggest an easy read on manifesting? Since finding the moneybox from my board I've become even more interested in this.
(Looking forward to hearing what goes on your board, and sorry about the neighbours, funny thing is when the ex and I moved here ours used to moan a lot too - but - I would now consider her an excellent neighbour and am very fond of them).
But as DFW says, you do need Gratitude a positive mind set. You need to really believe you can have it, like imagining you really do already have it. They say it's no difference from manifesting a parking space to a million pounds, it's all just energy, it's our perception of being able to receive the million pounds which makes it harder to manifest. Lots of stuff comes up like being worthy / needing to work for it / mindsets we grew up with from parents and society.
I used the book years ago and picked a technique and manifested £1000.
Then didn't do it for years because it worked and scared me, i know stupid!

I have returned to a course I started online oooo probably over a year ago. I have done 3 modules and having a break. It is all stuff I know, but I dunno, us humans all feel better when we know a person has a piece of paper in a frame to prove they know it
The course feels basic which is probably why I abandoned it before but I have paid... I have read dozens of books on these subjects so I am just flitting through it and stopping at the odd bit I haven't come across before.
DP is on his way home.
I have conquered the mountainous pile of washing 🏅
I have scoured bedrooms for all my missing glasses, cutlery and other missing paraphernalia (i.e scissors )
Might do one more module and call it a day on that course. I have also signed up for a free webinar thingamajig next week and joined a group with other people doing it. If nothing else I am doing this all to try and reframe and get myself back into a great mindset going forwards.

I did one more module before DP got home. Then made us some soup and had a catch up. Soup wasn't bad I bought a casserole mix (frozen not expensive from Mr T) and threw half in with water and a handful of brown lentils and a stock cube. I did thicken it with some cornflour as I put too much water (didn't account for the water in the mix already as it was frozen). Would make it again 😁
DP gave me £30 amaz0n voucher that was given to him on his works thing. It's ticked off one thing on my 'to buy' list. I got a kettle with it.
Also bought some new filters for the RO system I have for the water.
Still need to buy a bed base, some rugs and a couple of other bits but they may need to wait. I'll see how the budget goes when I get paid as well as DP.
Takeaway for dinner tonight but DD wants Mcd as I assumed and DS will probably want the same and we are thinking of getting some veggie kebab and chips so not a super expensive one. Just a small payday treat.
We've walked the dog but it got cut short when DD called me saying she was locked out. She finishes early on a Friday...dog had fifteen minutes or so though so he seemed happy enough after initially ignoring me and carrying on his walk as I started for the way out 🤣 once on the lead he gave in although he did try to lead me back into another park en route to the car 🤣MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. I think it is supposed to be last working day of the month...so I'm waiting. I do remember they said they weren't sure if I would be on the pay run this time along with other new starters because we were only put on the system last week. So I'll see.
The temp job also should be last working day of the month.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Everything crossed for Monday then. My people used to be able to see the final outcome (before i could) on the HMRC app which was always fun. Morning all!
I actually slept in this morning, my brain has finally chilled out enough for me to sleep better (yay)!
So DP came home the other day and he'd thrown his back out playing tennis 😏 I was still (!) feeling nauseous too so Saturday we planned to just walk the dog, do the kids clothes for the next week ahead (piles of washing) and a nice dinner and chill all day on the sofa. Well I got a text around 1pm I think it was, we will be an hour, see you soon. Ummmmmmmmmmmmm. Hold up? Wait? What? I checked who it was from...my DIL so I frantically message back, was that meant for me? YES! DS should have messaged you yesterday to make sure it is okay and you're in?! Ummm NO. ANYWAY, of course it was okay I haven't seen my DS since I believe last Christmas/New Year. So yes....get over here!!! So I got out of my pj bottoms, back into jeans, straight down to Mr W (nearest shop) grabbed a tonne of party food, a birthday cake and a present/card and some cash. DS birthday is in a couple of weeks and I know I won't see him again before then so we had an early birthday celebration- he turned 26, 3 weeks early(very thankful DP had been paid because there wasn't a lot of money in the birthday fund as we have been raiding it all month, spent £100 on gifting money, small pressies and food -mostly YS stuff😏 including the cake). Great afternoon was had catching up and they loved the new house! DS was sad to go as he was leaving DIL at her dad's house as she starts a new degree today, he had to go back to Wales on his own. I pray he gets his transfer soon so that he can get over here somewhere.
Yesterday I had to do food shopping (L1d1- £100) and bath the dog. So we've just spent the weekend carrying on - nausea and bad back included. So my lie in this morning was very much needed
I should hear today whether I made it through to interview stage on that job or not.
I have been paid from my temp job today even though I never received a pay slip. I knew how much I was owed and it is right so that's great. Just the other job now. Heard nothing....
DP got paid but after shuffling his money around he has barely anything left in his account. I have had my temp job paid, my maintenance and one week of child benefit so I can finish the money shuffling and work out what we have left for the month. It is going to be another tight month sadly whilst we start paying new bills like CT, Gas & Elec, water etc which are higher than they usually would as they're all first payments. Same for the car as well.
I did a gas / elec swap at the weekend to a new supplier, so will also have an end bill there and a new one from the new supplier.
We just have to be careful this month and hopefully everything should even out by next month with DP new wage increase, perhaps I may have found something better by then, and the bills evening out. There are hardly any pots left to raid either. I am trying hard not to regret quitting my job nowI am much happier though so I will keep reminding myself of that.
I did a meal plan, first one I have done in a while. Used L1d1 to shop as I think they are cheaper than Mr T and I prefer their shop to Mr Al too. If I can go without any top ups this week we will be starting the month off great!
Today I will get out £40 to give to the kids for PM
I will transfer some money to the gift fund as Christmas is fast approaching and has only £50 left. Also to the EF fund, car maintenance fund and subscription fund (for next years ynab and amaz0n). Speaking of subscriptions the ynab ran out this morning, typically, so I paid for the year, with the 10% discount it was £73 I think.
DP wages covered all bills that are fixed and he paid for the gifts for DS, and also one week of shopping, what I have left needs to cover -
fuel (oh boy are we missing the fuel card!), £100
food, £400
topping up pots- gift £100, car maintenance £50, EF £100, PM for kids £40, PM for me £100 (although I have spent some already so will deduct that), contact lens for DD £55 & subscription pots £20 =£465
I will be looking for surveys to top up my spends here and there and I will hold back on the car maintenance fund until later in the month because we have a full warranty at the moment (we've also paid for the servicing/mot warranty and one other as it was so cheap). DP is due back fuel costs in his expenses within the next few weeks. i will get him to move that to an empty account and that can be the car account for fuel and maintenance going forwards.
End of 1st month in new house- no wonder we are feeling poor-
we have spent £4343.43 (I like the synchronicity there!)
We had our first (SURPRISE) mortgage payment £707.55
We had our last large maintenance payment £421.27 (thank good ness, as if we had to pay that this month we would be super poor right now)
We paid £175 on home insurance
We paid £330 on the car
£180 nearly on gifts (xmas stocking fillers and DS surprise visit)
£157.55 on dining outyikes.
£144.50 on household bits and bobs for new house.
Groceries was £617.28.
£120 on my allowance.
This folks is what happens when you take your eye off the budget. We also had all our usual fixed bills in with that. 🫣 I am VERY grateful today that we managed to cover ALL overspends this last month with money from pots, we incurred no debt and the EF is in tact. Next month I MUST do better! That is my pledge today!
