Haha yes he's very cute and draws lots of attention to himself. His hair has grown though and he barely fit in the basket 🤣 he fits better when he has his summer haircut.

I got the bike out this morning for work, first time I've ridden in, and he was stood by the door with sad eyes wanting to come. He knows how to play me for the guilt trip and I've promised an extra long walk later on 🤣

  • I'm sat outside work by the canal, it's very peaceful and quiet at the moment. I don't want to go into work because I know I'll be roped into starting early. So enjoying the quiet and cool outside instead.

I haven't got round to my vision board yet but I had a good think whilst in a meditative state the other day after my rant on here 🙈 and I put out to the universe what I do want from a job ..I'm unsure what job it is but what I'd like, i.e how many hours, I love helping people etc. And two friends randomly messaged me yesterday with job openings ...neither knew I was looking for a job. So when I get home today I will read through how to apply and see if they fit what I'm looking for. I don't want to jump from the frying pan into the fire so I will hold off until I find something I want now because where I am is paying and there seems to be overtime etc if I want it. So yes, two more possibilities have appeared. Ask and ye shall receive....

  • Afternoon all, well today was a NSD - it shouldn't have been but I was late out of work, my friend had already bought tea and cake in the cafe where I met her and I forgot to give her the cash I had waiting in my purse for today 🥴 I only remembered when I had walked up the hill (I was crawling by the end 🥵) and I wasn't going to go back down to get back up again
So I messaged her and said thank you and sorry and I will get it next time! She had said it was her treat when I got there and she had bought it, but I know she hasn't got a lot of money so I do feel a bit bad now - I will get it next though.

DP is out with his boss today, bosses car is parked on our drive.....it's huge and I tried to get my bike past it after I had crawled up the hill then biked home from there and nearly abandoned it because I didn't have the strength or energy left to lift it  I managed to half lift it, shimmy it over the boundary fence and throw it over the other side of the car near to the gate. Luckily it is already old and battered hey. Oops.

I'm home, showered, hair washed so I don't have to do it later right before bed. The dog is staring at me but I need to just sit and recuperate first

DP got some good news! The child maintenance is dropping from £421 to £32.09- yes you read that right! Woop woop ... I did the budget last night (well best guess tried to) and this is how it is looking so far (will do a proper SOA when everything is properly in place but for now I need something to work to before payday hits or it gets wasted).

     Income:
    • DP wages (still on old wage) £2000
    • Child maintenance to me £560
    • Child Benefit to me £210
    • My wages from temp job £310
    • My wages from new job £??? ( I have asked if it is a week in hand but didn't get a clear reply as to whether it is 5 days in hand or 1 week and that makes the difference), but worst case scenario let' say it is £230
    total income(ish) =£3310

    Outgoings:

    • Mortgage £660
    • Council Tax £169
    • Gas & elec £150
    • Water £91 (old bill and new bill in one here I had a month off this month)
    • Internet £27
    • Mobiles £21
    • HP Loan for car £272
    • Fuel £200 (RIP fuel card)
    • Car Insurance £47.06
    • Kid's pocket money £40
    • Our pocket money £200
    • Personal Loan £92.42 (carpet)
    • Groceries £500
    • Bulk Grocery spend £30
    • FLD food £20
    • Insurances £40
    • Contacts £57
    • DP internet thing for his website £30
    • Child maintenance £32.09
    • =£2678.57
Which leaves £631.43 for EF, MOP, Home maintenance jobs, Xmas& birthdays (which has been utterly raided this month :disappointed: ) yearly subscription pots and anything else we may have missed.

I am very grateful that we have barely any maintenance costs now. that was almost as much as our mortgage in the last house.....and it would mean we have not a lot left for filling pots. As it is £630 (ish) is a good amount and i hope I get to fully use all of it to replenish what I have taken.

I am also waiting on the CT refund still!

Money is very tight right now as we've had so many changes and so much expenditure.
I urged DP to see if he could send the company car back asap though and get some car allowance back. It seems that yes we can do this. So he cleaned it yesterday and is preparing to send it back. Unsure if we will get much if anything back but it would be nice.

Work was O.K....I told the manager who hired me that I was looking for another job though. There are a multitude of health and safety issues at that place and I told him it wasn't on. We have a lot of special needs (can I call them that now?) adults working there and also teenagers. Safeguarding??? They didn't seem too bothered. I guess with the other job I had I was all about trying to always safeguard and now all I see is issues with this place. I wish I could be one of those people who just say not my problem...but I can't.
I left dead on time though and refused extra hours much to their dismay - I was meeting my friend. I said I may be able to do some tomorrow over my contracted hours though. Some extra cash on payday would be welcomed right now and I could probably get DP to collect me meaning I won't need to save my energy for the climb home

I think probably tofu, stir fried veg & rice for dinner today - I also need to walk the dog. He is back in the room after meandering out and into the garden and deciding that wasn't good enough. I think I will just drive him to the park in the new car and let him run around. I am too tired to walk him there and then around the park today! It's been a long few weeks!

  • Possibly, DS is still only 15 though, he wants a job but can't find anywhere. DD has applied to dozens on job sites but not heard anything back. My friend's son is 17 and has also had problems getting hired. I think a lot of places want you to be 18 round here. She'll keep trying though, and £40 out of our budget every month isn't breaking the bank (neither of them got any this month as we were waiting for money all month)

Do they do paper rounds down your way?  My DS had one when he was about 14 - I think it was one of the few things they could do under 16, it was a week on and a week off for about £30 about ten years ago.
