Great news on the job.  Well done :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • Brilliant news well done! Good luck on your first dayX
  • Well done on the new job! Hope it fits well into your schedule and you enjoy it

On the GF I also went back and forward for years having the ‘treat’ of gluten  knowing how it made me feel  and actually to me it’s poisonous - but I stick to my guns during the pandemic and I would not go back for the world. (I still go back forth with a bit of dairy but the symptoms disappear in a few weeks so I choose that )

on the GF the gluten will make you feel tired - my family kept being accidentally fed Gluten on a v expensive cruise (princes*) despite their accounts and the app clearly being labelled GF and DF where relevant - they literally kept being told things were GF then saw ingredients list next day and clearly  wasn’t .. either way they all (even the kids) become v exhausted ill, felt sick super bloated and  awful - my DS still is feeling terrible and back at the doctors as it’s really triggered her

I am eating a lot of beans - pinto refried kidney etc and they are hugely helping me with daily energy levels so maybe up your pulses intake

those courgette scones look great ! Brazilian food is very GF as they use cassava flour
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

  • Okay take 3

This is getting shorter each time (keep losing it)

    New Job
Went well, and I have a few shifts already starting from tomorrow. And it seems OT is on the table, free for all at the moment so I am doing 12 hours over the next 2 days. I am exhausted still from the last two days though I really must sleep better tonight.

    New Car
DP parent's aren't quite ready to give up their independence just yet. Almost, but they want to hold on for a while longer. Totally understandable, and DP is relieved he didn't actually want their car, he wants a nicer one 🙄 so we have a few weeks to find one before company car gets sent back!

    Bills
Gas and elec is around £7 for this months bill? Doesn't seem right....... but will pay it and wait and see when the next one arrives
CT from old house has finally been settled, we are owed £160+ so we filled out the form and sent it off and await the money back. I need to set up new DD for new council tax still.

Really need to catch up on housework, shopping (food) I have some stuff to take back to the shops (trousers that didn't fit) and I need to do a meal plan this weekend and probably some batch cooking. I don't want to be getting home after a shift and having no dinner prepped or planned or cooked or whatever. I am paying for a takeaway this weekend as I am absolutely shattered. I should be expecting £310 for my two days work that I did. I am unsure on pay runs with new job. DP has asked about his...he should get his bonus (yay!) they usually withhold if you leave before it is due but he leaves 6th Oct, the pay period is 25/9-24/10 with bonus due in that Oct pay pack so I did say to please check as he should be due it! He is........so we will wait to see to see if they follow through with that. His first pay from new job will come 28th Oct. So.........we may not need that EF to use as a tide over. So we are debating using that and his bonus to buy a used car with perhaps a small loan that can be paid back quickly. We will see what is available to buy, what money we can scrape together and make a plan.........right dinnertime now, I best go make it and then organise an early night for me as I am so tired I could fall asleep on a clothes line......
