  • Huge congrats on the refund, DP's new job and now your temp job - sounds like it's all starting to come together.  We have similar issues with electricity stuff here - way too many light switches, an obsession with aerial cables (literally every room has at least one...) and sockets that aren't really attached to anything.

Fab on the temp job.   Every bit helps!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

  • Ahhh, I accepted the role for the week. Didn't hear anything back and had a response to another job I had applied to. This one permanent. So I clicked through to the interview slots and they are only interviewing tomorrow and Wednesday. So I ummed and ahhed as obviously I have agreed to the other temporary one (albeit didn't hear back), but eventually I took the slot. So I have messaged the temp job and explained that I can do tomorrow but I will need time off for the interview and understand it's not ideal and blh blah sorry for messing you around but blah blah what do you want to do  this feels like the times when you're waiting for a bus.........nothing............then three at once. I had to weigh up whether or not I was going to get the job tomorrow or not. I am over qualified for it. But at the same time I explained why I thought I was qualified only for this role because I have been out of the workplace for so long.......so I feel they would accept me for it. It is just retail and my background is retail if you go back far enough in my cv. We shall see. So anyway I have a job interview tomorrow afternoon, 16 hours a week for a new shop opening in the city. I think it will be perfect hours wise and location and the job itself I think will be easy enough so fingers crossed for me. In fact I am tempted to get my DD to apply too for the weekend work.

  • Thanks all. DD has applied too but didn't hear straight back like I did. Hopefully it was just because she applied later on in the day and there wasn't anyone at the other end to click a button. Afterwards I saw a supervisory role that might have suited me better. And four hours more. However the pay was something like 40p more and hour for all the stress of supervising 🤔 I'm not sure it's worth it (if you've been reading long enough you'll have heard my woes from the last supervisor job I did).

I'm turning up to the temp job in the morning but I will be ready to walk away if they don't accept I need my break at a specific time (I'm not usually very pushy like this but needs must the possibility of a permanent job has to come first). DP will collect me and drop me and run me back to the temp job if they accept this so hopefully I won't be too long. I can never do anything the easy way. If there is a hard way, I will surely find it. 🤣

I've been shopping for food. And I bought two pairs of black trousers as I wasn't sure which ones looked okay. I got DP opinion and so have one pair to return at some point. He chose the more expensive pair but they are comfier and look nicer on so I agreed too 😄....and I think I should have a pair of black trousers really. My last lot were a size 10....umm that was a few years ago and they'd not anywhere near fit my behind now.

Been busy just catching up on jobs around the house, CV writing (done ✅) and catching up on washing from not being very well over last week. I will make lunches this evening as I need to be at the temp job before 8am. DP is washing up for me after I cooked. And I think I'm about ready to crash. Energy is still quite low. I have my new supplements that just arrived though so have already started on them. Hopefully a boost of vit D and C will help me 😄

DD went out with school friends after school which was really nice, they went into the city to play pool together as its just a couple of roads from their school. ...she has hinted at the possibility of a boyfriend (would be her first proper one!) so I'm looking forward to hearing progress on that one! Both kids are loving the new school so far.

No car news yet. We're hoping DP parents will want to sell theirs as it's nice and easy and we don't need to think about it or put any effort into it (I think we've been through enough changes this last month and are pretty exhausted by them now)...but if not we kinda need to know very soon so we can go car shopping (again) and find something ready for first week of October. DP will be expecting to go to his new head office and he won't have transport at this rate 💁‍♀️🤣.
