So pleased re your refund and DP new job. All new changes
Hopefully you will settle down health wise as well once you have had a rest..
Hate to say this but gluten stays in your system for up to 6 months (which is why i never have it) . so if you think you have an intolerance as u stated best thing is to not have any for say a month and see how you feel.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Wow a busy morning and lunchtime so far today, am on the laptop so I can catch up with my YNAB in a mo.
I made £25 on a FB sale on something I had totally forgotten about for sale (another piece of furniture- a table and oddly was the only piece of furniture that doesn't fit anywhere in this house!) so something biggish decluttered out of the house and a boost to the income.
I spent some money in Mr T this morning though, DD is at a birthday party and so she needed a small present and card and I grabbed some shopping, think it came in at less than £20. She gave me £6 cash towards it too which was good of her.
I have lost my virginity with the 0li0 app today, someone listed some free Homegrown veg and they lived on the next road, seemed rude to say no. I will be needing some courgette recipes now to use them up otherwise I will blanche and freeze them. One or two are marrows not courgettes so I will perhaps stuff them for cheap dinners this week.
I made some scones this morning from the vegan bake book I borrowed from the library. They smelled amazing and were a hit, slightly overbaked though as the door bell went as they needed to come out really. Still very tasty and edible though.
Need to collect DD later on, DP is up in her room I think atm sorting out the wardrobe (I assume that is what he's doing anyway)
Need to make a meal plan and shopping list for next week, already spent out of next week's money so not sure what is left, will have a look. Today's dinner is a veggie roast, roast brocolli, carrots, potatoes, and probably courgette nowas well as some stuffing balls and gravy. Looking forward to that.
My energy is feeling better today. I am going to carry on fasting 18/6 I think as it helps me to heal quicker. I have also ordered some collagen supplements with some other bits in (other vitamins but forget what). I need to reorder my pre/ pro biotics too as they ran out over a month ago now. And I need to start taking my MSM daily again. These all help with energy as I go through that change in life......... 😏 Money will come from my personal funds for these.
Hmm I think that is it for now, have slight brain fog after this bug / exhaustion so not really sure what is going on with budget or anything at the mo. Time to catch up on it now I guess.......!

Okay, sent the money from the table straight out to klarna for my third payment (new duvet) which is due in 2 weeks. I know it is 0% but I wanted to pay it whilst I had it spare. SO £21.75 gone there.
Final Gas/ Elec bill paid. ✅
Money moved to savings pots for, ynab (this year), amazonia sub for next year, ynab (next year).
Money moved from PP for some surveys into ready to assign.
YNAB is straight, everything caught up and all accounts reconciled correctly (hooray)!

Enjoy the scones
A thought on the bookcases, if the Billy comes in a bit cheaper look on social media for built in hacks, there are some fabulous ones around. My office has a Billy with a built by carpenter set of shelves running to the window and it looks a lovely functional unit. If I ever don't need to work I will keep it but have someone add some mouldings to make the whole look more attractive
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -

I feel for you with your intolerances and hard core diet plan just to feel better. Well done for trying to stay well, I know if it was me in your shoes I would probably be unwell all the time as I couldn't go without. I really feel for you, because I don't think I could do anything that you do, and I know how tough it is to go without. Well done to you for keep on top of it as much as you can, I know you struggle, probably when you are settled it will be easier to follow stricter regime, but with everything up in the air, I always reach for the wrong things, don't feel guilty, it is such a shame you get so ill. That is totally unfair for you. Wishing you wellness and settledness soon. Hugs too. 🤩🤩🤩❤️❤️❤️HotdogXXX2

Thanks @Watty1 I do recall ages ago saving a tab with ik3a hacks I will go and have a look!
@beanielou I forgot to baking powder in 🤦♀️ but they smell amazing and I had a little nibble and they taste good too!
Ah thank you @HotDog2020, I am finding it really tough at the moment to stick to my diet. I am veggie through choice but vegan was more to do with severe dairy intolerance since a baby....i find the vegan part easy to stick to because I'm really really poorly with dairy, IBS and horrid sickness and other side effects. But the GF and sulphites ugh it's too hard to be 100% hardcore on it so I try to stick to it for 80-90% of the time at least and I fast a lot (well 18 hours fast 6 hours eating) so it helps me heal quicker. But after a stressful move guess what I'm craving....everything with gluten!
Here's the scones...not too bad and they did rise a little. The taste is good.
I've also picked apples from the garden, made crumble with them (the rest were rotten sadly) and I've got a roast on - sliced courgettes / chopped broccoli both seasoned and roasting. I made small jacket potatoes instead of roasts as guess who left her roasting pans at the last house 🤦♀️🙋♀️ so I can use air fryer for the jackets. I've got carrots and kale for steaming and some stuffing balls and gravy. First roast since summer started!
I made a kitchen cleaner too as I ran out of my purdy and figg. Used the glass bottle my distilled water and some lemon, tea tree and peppermint oil. 😁😇MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Morning diaryworld, it is chucking down with rain here, so much so that DD didn't even need to be badgered into taking her coat with her 😮that is unheard of! DS true to form had lost his tracksuit bottoms for PE 2 minutes before he needed to leave the house. He was using man-eyes and they were right in front of him in his bedroom. I suppose he obviously didn't much fancy going up to where they do PE in tiny shorts in the rain (up the hill away from the school). Lunch is made and I made DP at the same time, that is in the fridge. All I have had is tea and water and supplements this morning. I will fast until later. It suits me and I feel better for fasting, I am going to do a 16/8 today. I will probably have my eating window 12-8 pm today.
The apple & raspberry crumble was a hit yesterday! I am debating trying to make puddings every night like my mum used to when I was a child. We rarely reached for snacks after a good dinner and a pudding (unless a growth spurt hit). But I have never gotten into that routine as an adult/ mum myself. Partially (mostly) because I haven’t had the money to do so; however what then happens is – we reach for biscuits/ crisps/ sweets/ whatever is in the cupboards. So a bit of a false economy really thinking I am saving money when really I am not.
HOUSE STUFF
I have lots whirring around inside my head now I have lived here for a week, on plans, things that I need to do/ want to do. And now my energy is back a little. I can start thinking about how best to tackle them.So this list is more for me I guess than anything to do with MS
- Finish finding homes for all my pictures/ paintings and whatever we do not hang/ find homes for, sell, donate or box up for the loft (sometimes I like to have a change in decor and use different pictures to do this).
- Put away my paperwork (I've got bills old and new piling and bits of paper everywhere!!)
- Do meal plan
- Go shopping
- Hoover
- Find an electrician for some rewiring advice.
Also want a builder in to quote for garage removal and new one being built further back in the garden. It's not really a garage anyway more a thin workshop and it is built out of old RAF buildings and thrown together in an odd shape currently. Not useable for much aside from storage and small workshop. DP wants to move his office out there eventually and we want a space for garage stuff and an extra room for whatever purpose we decide (summer room/ games room/ etc). We will need a loan for this. I want to finance the rewiring from savings though.
I am currently trying to empty the conservatory out after the flood warnings. So far it only has one small sofa, one wingback chair, larder fridge and freezer in it that is left......last week it was packed with all sorts. I have moved most things to new homes, sold a table and emptied all boxes. I am thinking about closing it off for winter as it's already freezing out there. So just maybe storing fridge/freezer in it and moving all else in - somewhere..........where to put a sofa? Hmmm...
OTHER STUFF
We've a squirrel in the garden who is naughty. It makes me laugh though. It's only a baby and runs up and down the fence playing, and jumping all over the conservatory roof. I have a washing pole that can be taken in and out and it has a red cap to put in the ground to cover the hole when it's not in place....several times it's been knocked out. I was scratching my head wondering what the heck had done it until I spotted the squirrel and realised it must have been that. It has also raided the bird feeder twiceI think it lives in the neighbours conker tree at the end of the garden.
I have outside jobs but it is pouring with a capital P! So they can wait.
MONEY STUFF
Looking in the fridge I think I will do a stir fry today. With grilled halloumi for the kids and tofu for dp & I. I need to buy some onions, peppers and tofu but I have everything else. I have decided I quite liked how I budgeted last month with a figure that I count down from. So I currently have:-
£334.90 left in the grocery budget
£10 left in bulk spends
£67.28 in personal pocket money spends.
I am going to trial shopping every few days rather than a big shop at the beginning of the week. I really need this money to stretch to 1st October. Once DP has started his new job and we've had that difficult bit of wage changeover period I hope it will be a bit easier.
Job hunting...I am still looking. I have applied for a few locally. I will report back if I hear anything. I checked before I moved and there were loads.......I think uni students have taken most of the jobs I was looking for (just simple pt work with no need for much responsibility would be ideal), as there are hardly any going now. I will wait to see if xmas jobs come up. I thought they would have already been on there though? Anyway I will carry on looking.
Okay off to do that meal plan for a few days and get to the shops. Will report back with spends. I am tempted to hold off though and go later, we got to Mr W the other day and they had SO much reduced at 7pm that we were kicking ourselves that we had already done a big shop that week. So i may go and grab what I need for dinner and then pop to the shops later on to see what is available. Meal plan will involve more courgettes...otherwise I will have to search up how to freeze them. I am assuming cook first and then freeze but not sure.
