  • OH and I have just received a message with OP amount I am allowed to do this year and instructions how to pay to sub accounts as I effectively have two loans (mortgages) with them now.
I would overpay the one with the largest interest as you will save money straight away.

I am hopeful (as ever) to be able to OP to the max on that one. As it's a small one £2300 OP and then do the bigger one.

Oh and thank you all for the congratulations 🎉 👏 I have lost my post so many times I forgot to write that bit again 🙈🤣

Anyway I just sent my first OP on the new mortgage 🥳🎉 a whole £10.
Once it has arrived and I know I've done it right I will continue with little bits here and there as I did before.

  • Dinner is done, washing up is done, I'm waiting to crash in bed ...DP is walking FLD as I cannot make myself move any more today 🤣
Today feels relatively normal compared to the last two days so hopefully new job will be good and not take all my physical and mental energy.
Wasn't a nsd in fact I've not had one all week. Oops.

We're looking for cars and wow I am in wonder how they can charge the prices they do for some of these clapped out bangers. Our budget has steadily risen from 6 to 7 to 8 to over 10 grand and rising....😑 I refuse to let it get too high though as I don't want ANOTHER big debt for years on end! We will keep looking.... suddenly the company car isn't so bad (we thought we would be better off buying our own!)

    For the mortgage.
When my DS had to buy a new car just after Christmas I was shocked at the price!

Cars are crazy prices now, even the ones that are 7/8 years old are ridiculous money 🙄

Yes! Sorry 😀 all sorted DP rang them. They're taking out on the same day as requested and all the letters telling us the first payment was due were sent to our old address! I am still to send the complaint about the mess up. I am waiting to see how much DP gets charged at the end of the month for the overdraft we had to use 😠.

  • Cars....we went all the way up to 16/17 k before we could find a decent one. Up to 20 before we found the ' wow dream cars ' But I couldn't commit to that. I said we could do so many things in the house for that. And the house will appreciate. Plus we live in it all day every day ...the car won't be used all the time, will sit on the drive empty most of the day and depreciate. So we went back down through the thousands until we could find a decent enough one for around 10/11 I think it was.
I'm not too happy about that either if I'm honest I've never spent that much on a car. Nevermind an old car (well by old.. it's I think a 66 plate). However it's pretty enough for DP to fit in with everyone else that does his new job, it's a step up and he's told me all the cars they drive and I'm wondering how they afford it if I'm honest if they're on the same wage as him? they all seem to be driving BMW, Audi, Jag and so on and so forth and not the entry level ones either. They must just have huge debts I reckon?! Anyway me being chief budgeter put my foot down on the budget. So he's found several older 'nicer' cars that fit the bill.
    What a palava.
The car does look quite pretty though and I'm looking forward to driving it 🤣 I think DP will test drive and put deposit down we requested a call today to save it. I will have to raid EF for deposit though I think and I'm not very happy about that so we will ask how much it will be per month with a minimum deposit to keep EF in tact.

  • We've put a deposit down so they will move the car to our city for us to test drive. We've had a word about repayment plans and we are opting for very low deposit. To keep EF in tact and longer payment plan for five years. We will obviously try to op it but it is what it is. We need a car DP office is around a 400 mile round trip i think he said and we need a car.

Work is manic I am on a small break now and just chilling out before going back. I've not been trained on anything and need to start tomorrow in a brand new shop that will be absolutely rammed with not a clue where anything is or who is who. Fabulous. Not very organised at all. At least I'm being paid 🤣
