I've had a very long day at work. Not helping is my current insomnia issues. I literally laid there for most of last night willing myself to go to sleep. I got around 4 hours which isn't enough when you're being as physically active as I am. Again, I walked 8 miles and equivalent steps to the other few days (battery once again dead I think I will put it on charge all night tonight).
I didn't get trained; once again.....I'm not sure what is going to happen tomorrow but I will tell you now the (dis)order in this workplace is parallel to nothing I've ever come across and I've worked for many retailers. We shall see how it pans out....I had a call from another application I filled out on Indeed so perhaps I ought follow up with that Instead 🤔. I also had a message from someone telling me there are jobs elsewhere which was kind of them as I hadn't actually said I was looking for work but she said she thought I'd be a great fit. So I've options. I will carry on with this one a while longer and see.
The other job I had a call back on requires transport really so I'm not sure it will be great long term. It would mean I would need my own car as opposed to sharing with DP. Could be long hours too as it's based county wide. Our county is pretty big.
All I've come to realise lately is, I'm better than what I've been applying for. But thanks to my past I just don't have the confidence to reach any higher. I actually came home worn out today and sobbed whilst making dinner for everyone. I want to instill confidence into my children in themselves and of their abilities and their intelligence and to never accept less. Feel like it's too late for me now and I will just carry on as I am for a bit. Until I probably have enough and quit anyway ....
In other news I've spent over and above on utter rubbish this week. A cup of tea here and there, one meal out, snacks and drinks as I've been exhausted and the lunches I've taken haven't sustained me for long enough.
The house has been neglected. The dog has had small walks here and there but he's missing me. My DD seems to have found herself a BF so she's distracted anyway and doesn't care what I'm doing and DS is absorbed into his games once he gets in around 4:30 so I'm glad I don't actually feel like I'm neglecting them so that's good.
I've got snacks, an 80s dvd lined up and I'm having a bath for my back and knees and am going to try and sleep. Was hoping to rack up some NSD at work but nope it's been the opposite 🤔🤣... perhaps when / if things settle it will happen.
The car is being delivered to the city showroom next weekend so we hope to go test drive and buy it. That's one stress out of the way. And although it's money being spent I'm actually looking forward to it 😊 we haven't been on holiday and we've not been out much at all in the last year so this feels exciting and like I'm allowed to be happy about spending the money 🤔🤣. Could be tired delirium setting in though 😉
Right anyway I'll report back tomorrow!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Perhaps you need to rethink your job requirements? You’ve just moved house to a home that needs a lot of work doing, your husband has just got a new job which you need to get a car for and you’ve just taken on a new job yourself which seems to have involved a lot of hours week
You’ve taken on such a lot in a short space of time.I would re-evaluate how many hours you really need to work and how much you really need to earn and give yourself a better work/life balance especially as you’re doing the house up xMFW 2025 #50: £1139.75/£600007/03/25: Mortgage: £67,000.00

Ohh you poor thing, I feel for you. Managing a house and a family tends to fall on the female variety, not that you can't negotiate or at least we all feel this way, so when we feel not our best we feel that we are letting the team down. However it sounds like you need a desk job and not an 'on your feet job' it would be much calmer and there would be less need to soak muscles at the end of the day. Would that be something you would consider? as when you have a dog to walk a house to clean and a family to cook for, the last type of job you need is something that pushes you further physically, which is probably why you are reaching for non nutritious snacks...if you are like this now, there is a good chnace you will stay like this. Also it sounds like you haven't recovered from the house move have you got some full on relaxation coming up...it sounds like you need it. Take Care. HotdogX2

Work today-
I'm not sure if I will last long here. Needless to say I got confused with who was who and I sort of ranted a little about the disorder here and it just happened to be a RM oops. This ended up with all supervisors and managers (including store manager) being called for training at the front. Can't say the manager and other supervisors are best pleased with me probably. It was a genuine mistake however .....Day has gone okay since then actually I'm not aimlessly wandering any more which I hate. And RM has checked in on me several times and given me other things to organise which I liked (I love to be busy at work so it goes by quickly). I've also had to guide other supervisors that have been hired and have no experience in management (they're clued up enough and wise enough to make good supervisors though I think).
I've only got an hour left and I'm on a break so once I'm back 45 mins. Have finally got a rota for next week. 20 hours only. One stupidly early shift which I'm not very happy about but I guess it effectively means I have the day to myself after. And I've two days off. So I will see how I go. I'm still debating ringing the other job but not feeling so pressured yet.
DP has gone shopping for me so we will have food and I don't need to do it later. Apparently DD has asked if her new BF can come round 🤨 DP was like ummmmm 🤨 yes and sit six feet apart please 🤣🤣
I love the atmosphere in the city at work it's busy and noisy (in a good way buskers etc) right back to work for now....MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06.
