Thank you all ๐ฅฐ
We wanted to go and celebrate yesterday Eve but honestly I wasn't well enough again. I was floored by dinnertime and felt so tearful. Too many emotions even when good overwhelm me sometimes... especially when I'm already not feeling well.ย
I've had a headache on and off for over a week now. And my whole body aches and I'm exhausted. I literally was half way through a job yesterday when I just burst into silent tears and couldn't make myself do any more (obviously being in mum mode I put dinner on still).ย
I think it's partly stress and partly change in season (I always seem to have detox symptoms around Sept) so today I am looking after my physical vessel. I'm fasting all day. I didn't eat past 6pm yesterday and today I'm jumping straight into a 24 hour fast. I want to clear my body of any toxins (I've been a bit naughty and eaten too much gluten which doesn't like me, and also too many sulphites which make me sick). Hopefully by Monday I will be right as rain again. If not I might do 18/6 fasts next week.
@~FlowerPot~ they paid back all the refund but the bills account it was paid into would only allow us to pay out ยฃ2k ๐คฆโโ๏ธ so we obviously paid M&D first and then I could only take another ยฃ1k. So need to transfer out a bit more today to finish paying back pots.
DP took half of DD built in wardrobe down in her room so we could put up her wardrobe she's using from our old room (we paid ยฃ30 for it but it's a french antique style and quite pricey usually - very pretty too and DD wanted it when it wouldn't work in our new loft room). However nothing is easy eh. Half of it wouldn't fit up the stairs ๐ there is one big back panel and we struggled with it for around 15 minutes before realising we were wasting our time. It needs chopping up and putting back together upstairs or just selling on....so frustrating. We realised why it was so cheap for what it was ....it doesn't easily fit into most people's houses! We only got it up the stairs in the last house because of the way the upstairs landing was and there was a gap between downstairs rail and upstairs landing rail and the panel slipped between the two.
So anyway that is a problem/ project for today.
As I look around the house I realise more and more what a big project we've taken on. I think it needs a full rewire and well, we're living in it so not easy. Then walls will need replastering. Some of the plumbing needs attention but the boiler is new enough so that's good. And then we have the outside garage which needs pulling down and putting back about 15 ft and building in a better material so that we can actually use it for something other than a narrow workshop..which is all it is at the minute. Then we can build the small extension on the back properly (where the lean to is right now- which the neighbours have already very loudly complained about because it's attached to their extension...ummm...they didn't leave any gap between their boundary and ours so I can see why an old owner just put the lean to up on it). Anyway I think these non stop lists of things to do are giving me brain ache ๐ญ๐ so I need to just write them down. Get them out my head. And then we can make a list of - 1) what do we need tradesmen for 2) what can we save for and do ourselves. 1) will probably be funded by a home loan I think. 2) we can save for as we go.ย
Today I want to go out as there is some event on locally which looks fun. The kids and I went before when they were smaller, the dog loved it too as lots of people to say hello to. It's all outside with lots of fun dancing and music so I will check weather first. And it's very mse, it's free ๐. And as I'm not eating today (I really want to stick to this!) I won't need food out and about. I will eat at 6pm which is a full 24 hour fast. Today I will stick to herbal teas that don't spike insulin and water.
DP is going to price up how much it will cost to make bookcases from scratch as opposed to the likes of the billy bookcases. The last lot he built looked great everyone commented on them and it was a real selling point in the last house as it gave so much storage. So if he wants to build from scratch I certainly won't stop him ๐.
I got a better night sleep last night and haven't woke up with a bad head or many aches so maybe I'm on the mend now.ย
I'm just trying to speak to the mortgage company on my app about overpayment as I have two mortgages and would like to overpay but don't want to overpay into the wrong one, I'm not sure how to do this as both seem to have the same mortgage number as a payment reference. Will figure this out and start sending some TT and survey money over here and there. The EF is at a good stage where I feel happy splitting payment now to MOP and EF.

Thanks Slm,ย
We went car shopping in the end as the weather was horrible so binned off the idea of the day out. Honestly my energy levels are not great either and I felt dizzy and headache returned an hour or so after we started shopping.
We have a new higher income coming in but obviously we've no car with DP new job. So we've been through every option today including asking DP dad if he still wants his car (he's spoken about selling it before ). We've looked at least hire (showrooms seemed keen on putting us off that idea for some reason), HP, PCP and also second hand car showrooms where we would probably try to finance ourselves part saving/ part personal loan. If I didn't get a headache from feeling poorly it is because of all the options and numbers floating around in my head.
I kinda liked before, when I was poor, I went in and said, I have ยฃ2k (or whatever) and they would show me the one or two options to choose from. Simple. And quick.ย
ย
We're not much richer now really as we are cash poor .... Have a house to do up and kids still at home. So we've decided on a second hand car and to bin off the idea of ยฃ300-400 per month payments for something that has a huge balloon payment at the end of the four years. They obviously tried to sell it (PCP) to us as a perk...well that's okay because then at that point you just bring it in and swap it over for a brand new car!! I was like, umm, so effectively we never ever get to the end of huge monthly payments then?ย
ยฃ400 is 2/3 of my mortgage per month. My house has equity and will appreciate and the mortgage eventually gets to an end. A car loses value the second you drive it away. It will never be worth spending 10s of thousands on to me personally and with PCP and continual changeovers you never own it ๐ค. These cars btw were Skoda's and Kia's not BMW or Audi etc.
So we're glad we looked. It made our mind up. We saw a BMW with 25k on the clock for around ten grand. That's about the limit I want to go to for buying. Preferably less as does DP. So he rang his dad and put feelers out for whether or not he's wanting to still sell. We will wait to see..... That would be the best option. It's a barely used car that mostly sits in the garage as they like to walk everywhere and use their free bus pass. Otherwise we'll go back to the car supermarket type showrooms and find one there.ย
I put it out to the universe the other day I wanted laurel hedge for the front garden ๐ this morning on FB I saw someone giving some away for free ....to anyone who dug it up themselves! So DP has gone to get whatever is left. The guy thinks there is around 10 so that's more than enough to do the front, we might even have some left to do some of the side of the drive.
I'm really hungry on my fast. Drinking lots though and have leftover dhal for dinner so healthy and won't take long to cook. 6pm I will be eating that. On the dot ๐๐.
I changed address on my banks this morning. Moved ยฃ300 into savings. And tried to pay the gas/ Lec bill but they're not in the office until Monday so will have to ring back or try to do online. Hot drink and snuggles with FLD now and a movie as I'm still zapped. Making myself stop for the day now.ยMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, ยฃ120,000. January 1st ยฃ118,267.06. EF is at over 2.5k now too!ย
Just wondering if we need to use it for a car though. As deposit. Or if we need it for the month DP changes jobs ... grateful I have it and know it can be replenished but would rather not drain it completely.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, ยฃ120,000.
