Mmmm……I might have felt determined with slimming world on my last post but it didn’t last long. Totally blown it again and for no particular reason other than I could.
My arm is still giving me some problems and if I can figure out how to get on the NHS app I’m going to make an appointment to see my GP. I seem to get as far as asking for photo I’d then everything goes haywire 🤬🤬🤬🤬 I’ve run out of medication but can only do repeat prescription on the app now 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 I need to get ds on the case tomorrow when I see him.
I have put a pause on my gym membership until mid January as ther is no way I can swim atm. It’s weird……I can move it but can’t put any weight through it…..I can hold things when they’re close to my body but not when using my arm naturally away from my trunk. I haven’t got much time left on my gym membership after January…..think it’s about 6 weeks and during that time I’ll reassess whether to rejoin again. It’s gone up £50 for the year…..I knew it would due to all the extra costs of heating etc. i made it before the price hikes last year……I don’t think £1 a week extra is extortionate BUT it’s only worth it if a use it.
The decision re my car has been made. As of Friday I won’t have a car. We’ve traded both our little cars in for a much bigger electric one. It’s a couple of years old and Dh has been after an electric one for a while so we decided to bite the bullet and go for it. I’ve been without a car many times before and it’ll take a bit of getting used to but it was my idea. When we saw the one we’re getting, we both loved it 😁 Dh is currently taking photos and drawing pictures as requested by the fitters of the charger which have been requested by the suppliers of said charger. I just wish the tram stop was a little closer to home. But the money I save on insurance and petrol can fund a couple of taxis for me if Dh isn’t around to taxi me 😁 Our cars were both nearly 12 years old and beginning to cost mega money in repairs….its had 3 visits in the last month. We pick the new to us car on Friday…..we had a test drive this morning and we’re both happy. There’s not a chance of me driving it as it’s way too big. If I find I struggle without transport I’ll get another little run around…..but it should work well for us.

There's no need to add a photo when contacting your GP via the app - it is an option - you can just move on to the next screen.  I've never added a photo when I've used the NHS app.  It's definitely the quickest way to make contact with our GP!

  • About the little holes in sweaters around the middle - I found I was sitting too close to the steering wheel that had a wrap around it and parts of it were hitting my sweaters which is why they were all in the same place. Could that be happening with your DH?
  • On one hand, I think not driving would be quite liberating but it’s not an option for me while working especially as dh chooses not to drive and frankly, the rows aren’t worth it.
This is the same dh who sits band against a desk and ends up with small waistline holes in woollens.
    good luck accessing the gp

Oh. How exciting to get a new car 😀

I'm without a car at the minute. It took some getting used too. Its only really been once or twice in the last few years we could have done with it.

Think I will get one again when the van is paid for though.

Thanks for the thoughts of the holes in Dh jumpers and tee shirts. I suspect in his case it’s his belt….a bit like myself his belly has expanded over the years and I think this might be the culprit 😂😂😂 He doesn’t sit at a desk….i’ll check whether of not the steering wheel is near his tum but I haven’t noticed it.
Just has a long chat to Dd and gks. It’s eldest gdd birthday on Tuesday so much partying has been happening over the weekend - ten 11 year olds in the house for a karaoke disco 😂😂😂🥴😱😂 I think much fun has been had by all. Dd is having a quiet day to recover. Younger gdd is 8 the week before Christmas and the excitement is already building with a repeat of said party happening again.
I’ve been doing a bit of research about the local swimming pool at the corner of my road. A leisure key pass is an available for over 60’s….I was always under the impression leisure key was only for certain benefits. I used to have one when ds was younger as he met the disability criteria. Anyway it’s not the best pool around and has restricted hours as it’s attached to a school. I think I’ll apply for a pass and consider this option rather than renewing my gym pass, which will be along walk or 2 buses without a car. It’s only 10 minutes in the car, but I can’t see me making the best use of it without transport. There are various options, with one of them any leisure complex in town can be accessed. Food for thought……
I think we might be on the boundary of the snow expected overnight tonight - the weather forecast keeps changing.
ive just been to collect my new hearing aids. I’m really pleased with them as they’re smaller than my last ones. The clock in my living room seems very loud. I hadn’t realised how my hearing had deteriorated.

I think hearing is one of the things we ‘get used to’ so don’t notice it till it’s really bad !
