Have a look at alternatives to the Ring brand as apparently they hold you to ransom over storing your data.
the eufy brand seems to be mentioned a lot and is often on offer at Costco if you are near one.5 -

I am breathing a sigh of relief this morning as the current work phase is done.
There is a long list of "to dos" to finish the rooms off but the house is quiet, the feral kitten is asleep upstairs and WattyDog relaxing on his bed. I love the rooms that are now "mine" so much that I have decided to do the two spare bedrooms as well. Not just yet as I need to move in first. The builder said that which made me smile as I have been living here all the time with the animals but I have not really moved in, the furniture in most rooms is heaped in the middle and there is much "sorting out" still to do.
I am worried the paint finish is not up to WattyDog and his mud and we chatted about that yesterday and he reassured me that if it was not then he would send the decorator back and have her paint an additional coat of something on top to be sure. (WattyDog hates being towelled off and refuses to shake himself outside).
This morning I have made the bed in the main bedroom with my new bedding, the roller blind has just been delivered so I should be able to put that up later and the en-suite floor has been cleaned. I wish I had re-done the floor as the toilet had to be moved slightly and there are glue stains that I cannot get off even with the solvent I used (A sort of trade WD 40 which has removed a lot of stains here) . Not too bad though and I'm sure I wont notice them in time.
I think next month will be a settling in, de clutter and finish off with a stair carpet to be purchased, a new rug, curtains and so on. The outside of the house looks beautiful with newly painted windows (still to decide about the concrete windowsills that have old paint) and repointed woodwork and the front door is incredible. Hopefully the blacksmith will come back about the lock and handle in the next few days.
Overall the big work is done, just the little stuff (some of it big) to do. A master list will be drawn up as I want all the little jobs done so I can enjoy the house now.

We've been here nearly 3 years and only now do i feel we are really moving in to each room so I understand. We've been going round the house a bit at a time painting (walls and roof in each room), just similar colours to whats already up, but it entails clearing everything out each room of course. Some things had been put down when we moved in then never really looked at again. Now I feel we are thinking properly about each room and what should be in it. Its tiring but worthwhile so wishing you all good things for Move In May for you and the creatures

Thank you all so much.
I will admit I am still sleeping in the spare room. It is comfortable and familiar and feels cosy. The new bedroom seems overwhelming and I cannot figure out how the new shower actually works.
I realised this morning the spare room is still the 'old house' and so still a link with my past. Moving into my new bedroom will be moving into my new future and that is scary.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Could you give yourself a long weekend's 'holiday' sleeping in the new space with your lovely new bedding, to get used to it and be excited about the novelty of it? Maybe incorporate some other small nice things into your 'stay', like reading for fifteen minutes before you get up, or having a cuppa and a croissant in bed, or using toiletries you save for special instead of your usual?
You deserve for it to feel like a treat to yourself10
