One of the things to consider when you talk about amalgamating pension pots is whether all of those you lump together are going to do the same thing, like buy an annuity (income) or whether drawing down (eg tax free lump sum) is in your plans. Also whether you will have an income outside these, going forward, and if so, will that contribute to a pension pot.

You could consider ring fencing certain pots to drawn down cash (we did, to pay off the last of our mortgage) and if so, are there years between when you can first draw down cash without financial penalty, and the tax year within which you will start to get a state pension (and is that state pension the maximum you can make it to get 100% - look at the gap, if not) - we spread out our drawdown of Mr Sl's DC pot so that we minimised the tax he was paying. His only occupational pension was under the tax threshold, so smoothing it worked for us.

Obviously just things to consider, not advice @greenbee
