Wow where did that weekend go. Saturday CPD all day and then Sunday CC and I met our neighbour with her horse for a walk and gossip (I'm sure the horses gossip as much as we do) and then back to the office to write up a response to some questions from the accountant of someone interested in buying the business. Had to use AI to write some of the answers as I have a natural tendency to be too informal and hand over too much at this point. AI made the point I need a solicitor - err - not yet - this potential purchaser is odd, she shows interest, disappears, reappears some months later with a question or two, then vanishes. But, I am going with the flow as this will be part of designing the next part of my life before it is too late. Logged on to work emails today and the first one I read was from a client whose daughter had died which is why she had not been in touch - very moving. Have put it aside to write a proper reply.

The weekend has gone by far too fast and I do not want what remains of life to keep flying by at this pace.

Woken really early by an amazon delivery - remarkable as I ordered vet wrap last night just as I was going to bed and it was here waking me up. No wonder no one goes shopping anymore. Vet wrap needed as WattyDog has a sore on his leg and was really chewing it so I put some gauze on it and then bandaged it with the last of the vet wrap from the equine first aid kit. VNM enquired as to why the horses have a first aid kit and he is hard pressed to find anything like a plaster in the house for himself. I didn't even bother to reply to that. Obvious huh?

I have made a note that further supplies are needed as many items were out of date. I firmly believe a fully stocked first aid kit is charm to ward off injuries before they appear! I wasn't sure any of the antiseptics or wound covering gels etc could be used on a dog so WattyDog awaiting professional input this afternoon from vet.

Vet wrap works as people wrap too! I hope WattyDog’s leg feels better soon. Could it be something like a horsefly bite? I know the bitey things are annoying Stinky at the moment.

Tell VNM you expect a higher level of self-preservation from him than the horses, but frankly I just use the animal bandages on me 😂

So now we know… the VNM just needs to raid the horses' first aid. I assume you never mentioned it to him in case he ran you out of vet wrap?

£176 spent on a consultation and a couple of skin creams to treat topically. When the floof was clipped away there was quite a sore, plus, evidence of previous injuries which I had not seen before and certainly don't remember happening.

WattyDog most brave, treats dispensed and bill paid. Hopefully this is all that is needed, vet did mention it could be arthritic pain but he is already on pain killers and dear dog is so cheerful I'm hoping it was just an insect bite that became sore due to licks. A collar of shame handed over for when he is on his own (he doesn't chew when he is with me)
