So sad & disappointing that you had this experience. I had a less than satisfactory experience with the MH person at my surgery before Christmas. We were not on the same wavelength at all. As I saw it’s a tick box experience.

I hope it works for some people but I absolutely hate the thought of AI being used for mental health 'help', it feels so incredibly inappropriate and missing the point of what humans need, which is by and large other human understanding. I can't think of anything more lonely than having my soul and experiences and need to feel safe, being farmed out to something that pretends to 'exist'.
Don't feel despondent about today or if the next appt doesn't suit your needs, you're being brave and productive and intelligent by trying and investigating what works. Today was a very good day in that you went, you advocated for yourself, you gained the information that you may want to try something else. Well done Watters 🥂

Well done indeed @Watty1 . Apps aren't going to work in some or many situations. I think you take what works and keep on with VNM, horses and Wattydog. Sticks essential. You are a shining star. Love Humdinger xx

This is why I grow plants for wildlife rather than buying them food.

Now that is a great plan @greenbee I think I might look into that. I also have a very shaded patch of ground about the size of a small double bed that I've been wondering what to do with. It was once a strawberry patch, which was a fun thing to have. Despite the shade they did ok but I now park the lorry beside it so it is shaded both sides. I will think on that. I've realised being outside is helpful so I should do more of that.

I agree. Using AI just feels so alien to me. Maybe younger generations might find it helpful but I'm not sure. The comment "being farmed out to something that pretends to exist" is so sad.

Yes I've know SAD is an issue. I have a light I use most days.
I think you are so right, my best therapy is the good parts of my life: the dog, the horses, some daylight and time outside and the VNM.
I am seriously considering what to do about work because that is a real stressor just now. My accountant has suggested trying to sell my company and then taking time out more than once and that was on my list of "ifs and maybes" when I started this diary and I am now giving serious consideration to that.
I potentially have someone interested. I'm not sure how serious she is though, but I have sent over financial information, we have a signed NDA in place and she has asked questions that indicate she may be serious. She will be at a meeting I'm going to go to on Thursday so I have suggested we chat then. A red flag for me was that she has not yet sent the information for review to her accountant because of the fees that will involve whereas I would just pay my accountant - but - the flip side of that is that I have had my accountant years and I know him and trust him and I know that is not the case for her.

Our garden is very shaded at the back, we grew a shade garden. Lots of gorgeous ferns , hellebores and Lilly of the valley. It’s one of my favourite bits of the garden and the birds love it as it’s where the feeders are. Sending virtual hugs.

You could try Dr Stuart's Teas - I used to like Tranquility for daytime (helps anxiety) and Valerian plus for pre-bed-time if you fancy a change. They taste quite pleasant and I found they worked for me
